This is not our first rodeo. The new 8000Kicks Hemp belts are also made in the EU with European hemp. This is the culminating effort from our team to bring back hemp manufacturing to Europe. Our belts have been made with super durable hemp fiber and a metal casted buckle to ensure maximum durability. *Although the straps are real, the buckles’ design has been computer generated. The final photos will be shared as soon as the final sample arrives.

Our belts are coming in 2 sizes, Small and Big, with the biggest one having up to 125cm. Both have adjustable strap length next to the buckle.

Other than boots and belts, we are proud to introduce our newest socks made in Ukraine. The old soviet union has a long tradition of using hemp in clothing, and part of its manufacturing was in Ukraine. In recent years, the machinery has been updated and the quality improved, and for that reason, we picked our hemp socks partner there. Although the country is currently in a war, the factory is well-equipped with generators and bomb shelters. *Although the socks are real, the design has been computer generated. Our hemp socks are made of 60% blend with 37% cotton and 3% lycra. The following sock composition optimizes the durability of the sock and its comfort at the same time, the lycra on the other hand guarantees its stretchability. They come in 3 sizes, Small, Medium and Large.

8000Kicks’ backpacks and shoes are made from industrial hemp, a Sativa branch, known as the sober cousin of marijuana.   Industrial hemp has been used since 8000 BC, and its properties include being anti-bacterial, needing no fertilizers and almost no water to grow, it cleans and restores the nutrients in the soil, and it is also very durable. In fact, Hemp is so strong that Henry Ford even built a car out of it.   We are pioneers in the development of hemp and our goal is to bring back this awesome natural fiber and make hemp shoes and hemp backpacks mainstream.

Did you know hemp is so strong Henry Ford once built a car with it? It was 10x stronger than steel, and Henry Ford was so confident in the strength of the panel that he took an axe to hit the car. The axe, which would have cut through any steel panel simply bounced back.

It took us 4 months of samples and travel to find the right suppliers. We had to ensure that our material had the best strength while remaining flexible and durable.

Unlike cotton and many other fibers, hemp starts capturing CO2 from the moment its seeds hit the floor. For that reason, when we start the manufacturing process a lot of pollution has already been removed from the atmosphere. We are also planting a tree for every order, making our boots 100% carbon neutral.

Besides being super strong, hemp is also very environmentally friendly. It consumes 3 times less water than cotton, and it has a minimal impact on the soil. Hemp is historically called “weed” for its fast-growing properties capable of restoring the nutrients in the soil. Funny fact: Hemp is being used in Chernobyl to clean the radiation from the soil.

We are getting experts in two things, feet, and hemp. After years of experience crafting hemp shoes, we have re-engineered our fiber for extra durability and longevity. We work together with labs worldwide to test the fibers, yarn and fabric. All our hemp is subject to rigorous tests to ensure nothing but the best experience for our customers.

Resistance to tear and Bursting strength allow us to understand the quality of the yarn and its fibers. These series of tests are the most important and define the durability of our backpacks and shoes.

Abrasion tests are very important when testing a new fabric because they allow us to understand what kind of wear and tear the fabric will have in the future. Cheap fabrics will start opening holes and cause bobbling or pilling.

Bending tests are crucial for our expandable top sleeve and make sure the boots last a long time without opening cracks on the top fabric.

In terms of strength, we have managed to totally surpass what is the lab standards by at least 5x, which is a great milestone for our company, See the test results below:

Fastness is the fabric’s ability to hold its color for a long time without fading. These are by far the most challenging tests for sustainable companies because people expect the same results as synthetic toxic dyes. So it is a big challenge to make good colors that last a long time. On a scale from 0 to 5, our results were incredible and we passed all tests, which means that our hemp is already better than 90% of other fibers out there. In other words, our boots will retain their colors for a very long time.

Our boots fitting is slightly wide as we have accounted for people carrying thick long socks while using it. Hemp is also a very adjustable material that will give in quite easily.

If you want to be 100% sure to get the right fit, you should look at pair of similar boots and look at the CM/JP value. This value indicates the measurement of the boot in centimeters and it is the most accurate measurement of your boot sizing.

If your boots CM/JP is 27, you should pick the corresponding CM/JP in our size chart, in this case US M9 that fits between 26.9 and 27.6.
