Three years ago, we launched The Gale VS Jacket on Kickstarter — an ultralight shell built for everyday adventure.
After thousands of miles, hundreds of reviews, and incredible feedback from our Trailblazing Backers, we’re back with the evolution: The Gale V2 — lighter, stronger, and smarter than ever.

Our Gale V2 prototype was worn by ultrarunner Mike during the legendary Hardrock 100 — a 100-mile course with over 33,000 feet of climb through Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. From freezing passes to mid-day heat, the Gale V2 was tested in one of the world’s toughest ultras.

♻️ Evolving Materials for a Better Future
The original Gale VS was made from recycled nylon fishing nets — a great start, but nylon is energy-intensive and difficult to recycle. For Gale V2, we switched to 100% recycled polyester, which has a lower environmental footprint, higher efficiency in recycling, and improved technical performance.
We know recycled polyester is still plastic — but with your support and continued materials innovation, our goal is to move beyond plastics entirely toward truly circular, regenerative fabrics.

We’re proud members of 1% for the Planet, committing a portion of every sale to environmental causes, and partners with SeaTrees’ Ocean Positive program, which restores coastal ecosystems by planting mangrove forests and regenerating blue carbon habitats.

This season, we’ve teamed up with the High Fives Foundation, a non-profit that supports athletes and outdoor adventurers who’ve experienced life-changing injuries. Their mission: to help people get back to doing what they love — skiing, surfing, biking, and living fully in the mountains and beyond.
Together, we created a limited-edition print of the Gale V2 jacket — celebrating resilience, recovery, and the spirit of the outdoors.
A portion of proceeds from every High Fives edition will be donated directly to the foundation to fund adaptive sports programs and athlete recovery.
After the campaign, we’ll share a full update with our backers announcing how much we raised together for the High Fives community.

If you are in-between sizes, we recommend measuring your current favorite lightweight jacket and seeing what type of fit you would prefer for the Gale VS. For a more relaxed fit, size up.
Women sizing:
We recommend sizing down for those looking for a regular fit. For example, if you wear a size large, then we recommend choosing a medium. If you prefer a more relaxed fit, then you won’t need to size down.
