Inspired by a late-night run before Ironman California last year, I recognized the need for a more efficient personal storage and lighting combined solution for late night and early morning runners and walkers. Drawing from my favorite running belt and the LED headlamp used during my night runs, I set out to create a better alternative than what is currently available. I set on a path of rigorous prototyping and multiple iterations in collaboration with a manufacturer; mulling over many of the current popular running belts and LED headlamp lights (along with the connected rechargeable battery size vs power output), we continued to go back and forth, advancing the prototype, until we achieved a design that balances optimal sizing, brightness and comfortability. This tested and refined prototype is now ready for Kickstarter, promising runners and night walkers alike a safer, more comfortable way to light up their path.
I’m a full-time video editor who found myself over-working and living a sedentary lifestyle, leading to significant weight gain. My journey to a healthier lifestyle began with a half marathon 6 years ago, which seemed daunting at first but taught me the value of setting and achieving incremental goals. This mindset not only helped me in my training but also in other aspects of life. Since that first race, I’ve completed several marathons, half Ironmans, and recently two Ironmans and hope others that might be in a similar situation that was can be inspired like I was when I first got into running.
