ADAR is a vegan and sustainable footwear brand based in Florence, Italy. Our mission is to design ethical luxury products for women and men that value aesthetics and craftsmanship as much as sustainability.
We fully source and produce our sneakers in Italy. This allows us to ensure the highest quality but also, lower Co2 emissions due to shorter transport routes and good working conditions for everyone involved in the production. Our sneakers are hand-made by a small, family-owned manufacturer in Veneto, Italy. The region is infamous for its long-lasting tradition in shoemaking and a production place of many European luxury brands. We are proud to work with passionate artisans who consider shoemaking rather an art than just a craft.

Apple leather
is a leather-like material that is completely vegan. It is produced in Tuscany by the Italian manufacturer Mabel. In the northern region of Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige is famous for its apple trees and the juice industry. Mabel uses the before-thrown-away discards of that industry, pulverizes, and then naturally dries them into powder. This powder is then combined with a polyurethane paste after drying again. The result is extraordinary. The apple leather has a luxurious feel and is completely vegan. It does not crease like natural leather, is water-resistant, and extremely durable. The Italian apple leather is our signature material and the main material of our Waver sneaker.
Bamboo Fabric
is made out of the bamboo leaves and the soft inner pith, which is crushed and soaked, put in a natural enzyme solution before spun into yarn. This yarn is buttery smooth and comes with tons of benefits. It is antibacterial and therefore keeps you fresh and odor-free. It transports moisture and is powerfully insulating meaning it keeps you cooler in summer and warmer in winter. All that makes it the perfect choice for our inner lining.
Recycled Materials
Besides our natural materials, we aim to use high-quality Recycled Materials wherever possible. This supports our efforts to combine a premium product while being mindful of our resources. Recycled rubber, recycled polyester, and recycled latex are used in the Waver sneaker.
