AI VINU is the world’s one and only micromini unplugged LCD coding robot.
Unplugged refers to learning activities that improve computer-based scientific thinking without a computer, and AI VINU has been created under the conceptual motto of: “Let’s learn coding like a fun game- through VINU with no smartphones or PCs!”
AI VINU can be used broadly, from preschoolers to elementary and middle school students, featuring appealing elements that can’t be found in existing unplugged robots, including the built-in LCD, exclusive activity sheet, and 180+ contents.
VINU aims at clearing a total of 180+ coding contents with 15 stages and 12 chapters joined by unique animation characters.
The 12 chapters feature game-style coding with various details, ranging from beginner-level contents such as putting pieces of Evely animation pictures together, to advanced contents such as placing “IF” conditional blocks by understanding left and right directions.
The chapters are divided into missions, allowing kids to feel like they’re leveling up in a game, and the coding results can also be reviewed and analyzed by themselves. The sense of achievement felt every time they clear a mission becomes the driving force, leading to a continued use of “VINU.”
Some chapters not only use VINU, but are also adorned with contents that draw active play from kids by using the exclusive textbook and activity sheet.

AI VINU is not just a static toy for playing games in a seated position, but is also an activity-oriented toy used to enjoy and learn coding for the whole body.
The provided textbook and activity sheet is upgraded continuously. Through the VINU CAR and VINU PAD firmware that will be later uploaded onto the homepage, kids can experience even more diverse contents and coding activities. The distributed firmware can be used freely once you register as a member. To allow for the continuous reproduction of the activity sheet, we are currently preparing a reward system with the activity sheet.
There are plenty of unplugged coding robots on the current market, however AI VINU is the only product that is equipped with an LCD. Regular coding products have a serious drawback in which contents have to be simplified due to the limitations of monitoring unavailability- as there is no LCD. Plus, learning coding methods without a screen which differ with each manufacturer is a challenge in itself and often lost the interest of kids before they even got started.
Therefore, AI VINU adopted the concept of building the LCD into the product itself. The intuitive LCD monitor not only helps kids easily understand abstract concepts which could otherwise be difficult to grasp, but also has the advantage of sparking interest with its visual zest.
As with Scratch, a block coding program made at MIT, AI VINU inherits a coding system learned by children around the world, just as it is, ensuring an easy approach to next-level smart device coding.
Toys for children require the power of technology, too! AI VIUN comes with the latest technology exclusive to PROBO which contains a wider range of contents (such as an RGB LED), a distance sensor, a sound sensor, and a stepping motor.
VINU CAR “Lattice Grid”: This is the most utilized function in the world. VINU visibly shows the coding results, and this function can be entered in three ways (touch, tilting, front sensor). The lattice spacing can be adjusted up to 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, and 7.0 cm. The accumulated coding results are available for checks, and the motion sequence is expressed in real-time during motion. VINU’s lattice grid corrects the 0.5-cm black line every moment while going straight, keeping VINU from deviating outside the lattice.
VINU CAR “Magnet & Avoid” : This function utilizes 3 front sensors and is one that follows or avoids a hand or a paper cup with a certain spacing. Various activities are performed with the combination of this function and the floor’s color sensor.
VINU CAR “Tilting Move” : Put VINU on a hard and flat floor and move it in a tilted X (left-right) direction, Y (front-back) direction, and XY (front-back-left-right) direction by utilizing the acceleration sensor. Various activities are performed with the combination of this function and the floor’s color sensor.
VINU CAR “Color Music”: Utilizing VINU’s color sensor: do (red), re (orange), mi (yellow), fa (yellowish green), sol (green), la (sky-blue), si (blue), do (violet), and comma (purple) are matched to sound the note. Recording and play features are available.
VINU CAR “Tilting Music”: “Do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do” is located around the VINU screen with the use of the acceleration sensor. If you touch the screen when reaching the corresponding note by tilting, the note is sounded. There is a recording feature, and the play speed can be adjusted to 1x or 2x speed. When played, the color of the corresponding note is displayed with the LED, and the corresponding note’s motor driving is enabled.
VINU CAR “Line Color Music” : With 5 floor sensors, VINU performs the function of following a line and sounds a note every time it reads colors on the line. The length of the note is expressed by the spacing of the color, and the comma also operates in the same manner.
VINU CAR “Emoticon”: This displays a 5X7 font, the smallest size that can express numbers, on the VINU screen. Kids can learn about digital 0 and 1 and understand pixels, the smallest unit of an image.
VINU CAR “Golf”: Kids can play a golf game where they arrive at 4 color holes in the least moves.
VINU CAR “Drawing Move”: When you draw with straight lines on the VINU screen, VINU moves accordingly. With this function, parking, block-moving, and pushing-out games can be played, and kids can learn the concepts of distances and angles.
VINU CAR “Auto Grid Move”: As the movement to a coordinate set on the 4X6 lattice grid is possible, more movements are operated easily and intuitively. The line grid is also easily transitioned in the same way, and a minimum-distance movement can be experienced with the information of the number of clicks and the entire moving distance.
VINU PAD “Free Coding”: This is an app that directly performs block coding by using various input-output blocks and multiple control statements. Through this app, the basics and forms of coding are learned, and different input-output elements can be controlled firsthand.
VINU CAR “Secret Mode”: This convenient feature has been added for use at schools or education-related institutions, not just in homes. Unlike typical coding robots in which parents’ or educators’ monitoring and level adjustment are unavailable, AI VINU allows a setting of the desired location and a reset through the secret mode that is only known to educators when a number of people wish to be trained at the same time.
1. The power is turned on when pressing the power button, and is immediately turned off when pressing it again.
2. Select the mission-type coding for the VINU PAD and perform, starting from the first mission in the 12 game contents. There are 15 missions for each piece of game content, and the next content will open up once you succeed in all missions.
3. Select free coding on the VINU PAD and learn to study algorithms while repeating according to the textbook.
4. Run the firmware update to use the VINU CAR. So far, more than 10 VINU contents have been added. Perform an unplugged activity by utilizing the textbook and activity sheet.
