The AN-T04 will be our fourth tourbillon watch. The watch dial for this edition is crafted using lumed forged carbon fiber, resulting in a unique effect. The manufacturing process of carbon fiber creates distinct patterns, making each watch dial truly one-of-a-kind.
Regarding the watch case and bracelet, after careful consideration, we have decided to retain the previous design, which will become one of our Main Collections(恆HANG). We will launch different movement versions in the future, including traditional automatic mechanical movements, GMT mechanical movements, and more. The craftsmanship and polishing of the watch case and bracelet will also be further refined.
The main difference between regular woven carbon fibers and Forged Carbon Fiber (also known as Forged Composite) is that Forged Carbon Fiber is made from either a paste or tiny chopped carbon fibers. As a result, there is no distinct pattern as the fibers are oriented entirely randomly, making each finished Forged Carbon product unique.
The finished product has a completely different aesthetic compared to its woven counterpart, resembling more of a marbled carbon fiber appearance rather than a woven fabric.
The design of the case and bracelet is the same as before. But to improve the design and quality, we added a mirror polishing chamfer to the middle pieces of the bracelet. The supplier was also changed at this time to improve the quality.
UNIQUE AESTHETICS
The visual appeal of forged carbon fiber dials is undeniable. The unique patterns and textures created during the forging process give each dial a distinct and captivating look. No two dials are exactly alike, making each watch truly one-of-a-kind. The marbled or organic patterns found in forged carbon fiber dials add depth and character to timepieces, elevating their overall aesthetic appeal.
After our efforts, we have solved the main cons of the normal hand-winding watch:
Don’t overwind
- “If it is a normal hand-wound watch, you can wind it even if it is still running. The most important thing to remember, though, with a mechanical watch is not to overwind it. Stop winding as soon as you feel resistance on the crown. If you overwind it, you could damage the mainspring.”
- We have changed the mainsprings structure. It can release the power automatically when it is fully winding. Even if you overwind it, you don’t need to be scared it will damage the mainspring and movement.
We use the Chinese Hangzhou 3408 Tourbillon movement. But it is a special order made by us, there is no movement with the same appearance on the market. Which has relatively stable performance. Its vibration frequency reaches 28,800 per hour with a power reserve of 72 hours. Compared with other Chinese tourbillon movements, It is an affordable and stable Tourbillon movement.
In this project, there will be 4 colors on the dial. Under light, all 4 models will look black. But after absorbing light, it will emit different colors of lume in a dark environment.
The formation of different colors and textures on the Dial
Mixing: First, carbon fibers are mixed with additives such as resin to form a viscous mixture or paste. (Add different colors of luminous powder to the resin)
Compression molding: The mixture is placed into a mold and then compressed. Typically, high-pressure machinery or hydraulic equipment is used to compress the mixture into the desired shape. During this process, the orientation and arrangement of the carbon fibers are random, resulting in each finished product having a unique appearance.
