Impact Score


Your bones, muscles, and tendons must adapt to handle it – but too much can lead to setbacks and injuries.
Co-developed with Dr. Brent Edwards (PhD, Biomechanics), Avelo’s Impact Score leverages the best available research on musculoskeletal loading to measure the biomechanical stress of each run, and guides how much you can handle each day and week. So you can build your capacity to handle more, and push your limits without setbacks.


Resiliency Score


The Resiliency Score helps you find the sweet spot between training and recovery. Co-developed with Dr. Phil Skiba (PhD, Exercise Physiology), it goes beyond heart rate-based recovery scores by factoring in how much impact your body’s taken.
Calculated daily by including your Impact scores, the contributors are:

Clear, personalized guidance – go hard, hold steady, or recover – so you can make better training decisions, adapt and improve
Form Radar


Form isn’t static – it shifts with fatigue, pace, terrain, environment, and time. That’s why the Form Radar doesn’t just capture your form once – it tracks every stride on every run. It learns your unique running signature and flags deviations – potential signs of inefficiency or emerging issues.
Whether it’s overstriding, late-run breakdown, increasing asymmetry, or a shifting foot strike, you’ll know – so you can be proactive about it.


Efficiency Score


Efficiency is your body’s “miles per gallon”, revealing how form, fatigue, and training influence your performance over time.
Becoming more efficient means you’ll go farther and faster – with less effort.

There are two main contributors to the Efficiency score:
Propulsion: As you run, your muscles generate force to propel your body forward and upward. Avelo calculates this based on your movement and the forces acting on your body.
Heart Rate. Your heart delivers oxygen and fuel to your muscles. The faster you run, the harder it beats. A lower heart rate at the same pace means you’re using energy more efficiently.
Your Efficiency score reflects how well your body converts energy into motion. A higher score means you’re running more efficiently, a key factor in performance and long-term progress.

Personalized coaching


Avelo delivers personalized guidance based on your Impact, Resiliency, Efficiency scores, and Form Radar, tailored to your goals.
You’ll receive daily and weekly mileage targets that keep your Impact in the right zone for you, workout recommendations, and real-time audio cues to keep your form sharp.
Plus, strength and drill recommendations tailored to your movement patterns – like calf work for forefoot strikers or hip work for heel strikers.
Over time we’ll deliver adaptive training plans that evolve with your progress, whether you’re chasing your first 5K or a marathon PR.
