Design Philosophy
When designing the K4 electric fin, the team focused on the user’s perspective, striving to create an advanced propulsion device that truly meets user needs.
1.Steering and Intelligent Remote Control
Users often encounter difficulties with steering and speed control when engaging in water sports, and traditional remote controls, such as watches or simple on-off switches, fail to provide precise control. This makes it challenging for users to change direction and adjust speed when navigating water currents and environmental changes. Additionally, the lack of a smart display means users cannot promptly check the electric fin’s status to make adjustments. To address these issues, we aim to provide a more intuitive Bluetooth remote control that offers functions such as steering, moving forward and backward, linear throttle control, cruise control, speed and battery display, enabling users to achieve precise control at will.
2.Small Size, High thrust
Traditional propellers are often bulky, causing additional burden for users during use. From the outset of the design process, we adhered to the philosophy of “small size, high thrust” and meticulously optimized and matched the various components of the propeller. The result is a single propeller with dimensions of just 8.88.44 inches (easily fitting into a backpack), which is lightweight and portable while also possessing powerful thrust. This ensures that users can enjoy the best experience in various scenarios.
3.Waterproofing and Product Reliability
Paddleboards and kayaks often face challenging conditions in aquatic environments. In this regard, the K4 propeller employs high-standard waterproof materials and multiple sealing technologies to ensure complete waterproofing. This ensures that K4 remains a stable and reliable partner for water sports in various aquatic environments
More Versatile Electric Fin
Intelligent steering systems
With 340W high efficiency brushless motor + specially designed propeller and unique spoiler channel design, we have innovatively given K4 high efficiency and precise steering ability, no matter what angle of left or right steering, it allows users to change direction quickly while maintaining stability.
Efficient power
The K4 electric rudder is capable of delivering 19.8lb lbs of thrust and can reach a maximum speed of 6.6ft/s, ensuring that a K4-equipped paddleboard or kayak can propel itself quickly and smoothly through a variety of waters. With 2 adults on board, there is still plenty of power.
Feather-light
We wanted to make every trip on the water more convenient, so we designed the K4 to be a compact 8.8*8.4*4in in size and 2.2lb in weight. Users can easily fit it into a duffel bag without worrying about taking up too much space.
340W Brushless Motor
In practical applications, as the core power component of the electric fin, traditional motors inevitably experience a decline in efficiency after prolonged use. Even if the battery does not degrade, this directly results in a gradual reduction in the electric fin’s power over time. Therefore, during the initial design phase, we decided to utilize a 340W Sunnysky brushless motor. As for the propeller blades paired with it, after numerous practical tests on the K4 body, the results showed that using Sunnysky’s specially designed blades allows K4 to output the strongest thrust while maximizing motor performance. When paired with the X100 mobile power bank, the entire power system ultimately achieves a maximum thrust of 19.8LB and a maximum speed of 6.6ft/s. We aim to ensure that users experience stable and powerful thrust every time they use K4, allowing you to fully enjoy the thrill of water sports, whether on a calm lake or a rapid river.
Multi-function Remote
The remote control serves as the bridge between you and the electric fin, and we have designed it with both operational convenience and functionality in mind. We are proposing to build a bluetooth remote control with a display screen, enabling users to precisely control the propeller and monitor the operational status of K4 at any time in various environments:
Control Functions: The K4 remote control allows for precise control of the electric fin’s forward, backward, left, and right turns, offers 3-speed settings, and features a cruise control function, allowing you to quickly adjust according to the actual situation during water sports.
When using it, we hope that K4 can have more information feedback to the user in order to grasp the fuselage status in real time. Therefore, we set up an digital screen, and the display information we hope to realize at this stage is: RPM, GPS speed, gear position, remaining battery life, mileage, instantaneous voltage & current.
Slide-in Box Adapter
Considering the compatibility of motorized tail fins with paddleboards &kayaks, we chose the widely used Slide in Box fin box adapter. A simple plug and play is all that is needed to integrate the K4 into the hull.
Battery & Endurance
The battery is the heart of the electric fin, yet traditional integrated batteries often pose difficulties in replacement and maintenance, which is precisely why we opted for a modular design on the K4. We have selected a 97WH mobile power bank weighing 625 grams to power the propeller via an XT30 connector, making battery replacement easy and convenient. (The detached X100 can also be used as a regular power bank.) Its visual window (displaying charging watts and remaining battery life) allows you to keep track of the battery status at any time. Supporting a maximum of 140W bidirectional fast charging, it means you can restore 95% of the battery in just 45 minutes. Of course, you can also have several spare batteries ready for replacement. Whether you’re embarking on a long-duration water expedition or a short trip, we don’t want your plans to be constrained by battery life.
Unique Turbulence Design + Gyroscope sensor
At the initial stage of design, we noticed that many electric fins on the market had inadequate steering control functions, resulting in deviation during actual use.
Therefore, considering the practical application scenarios(complex underwater environments), we redesigned the turbulence channel and equipped it with a higher-quality gyroscope sensor. After continuous optimization, the inflatable boat equipped with the K4 is now capable of achieving more agile and precise direction changes in various water domains.
How to use
- 1、Slide the K4 into the fin mount
- 2、Connect the X100 power supply using the XT30 port.
- 3、Turn on the power.
- 4、Connect the Bluetooth module to the remote control to operate the K4.
