From Our Team to You

Hi guys, we are ElimKeys. This is our very first Kickstarter project, and we want to start by saying thank you for taking the time to check out Elytra. We’re a small, design-focused team that has spent the past year building keyboards, testing prototypes, and obsessing over ergonomics and portability. Our hardware and firmware are developed by industry veterans—led by a founder who created a well-known open-source keyboard firmware with 1,300+ stars on GitHub. We’re engineers, designers, and makers who simply love crafting thoughtful typing experiences.

Elytra was born because we couldn’t find a split keyboard that felt right: ergonomic, wireless, beginner-friendly, and actually portable. So we built the one we wished existed.

Most ergonomic keyboards are bulky, complicated, or tied down by cables—making them difficult for everyday use. What if an ergonomic split keyboard could be something you actually take with you?

Elytra solves all of that. Its fully wireless split design lets you place each half exactly where your body feels right. Open your shoulders, relax your wrists, and type without forcing your posture into someone else’s angles.

On the couch. On the plane. Between meetings.

Beginner-Friendly Layout

No steep learning curve for split-keyboard beginners. The 63-key layout retains the muscle memory of standard keyboards, just more comfortable.

Ergonomic keyboards aren’t supposed to be this light. But Elytra is.

Despite its full aluminum chassis, Elytra weighs only 0.93 lbs (420g)—lighter than most tablets—and slips into any backpack with ease.
At 11.8mm at its thinnest, the ultra-slim profile supports a more natural wrist position, making Elytra comfortable to use even without a wrist rest, whether at a desk or on the go.

For commuting, coworking, or switching desks at home, Elytra stays ready.

Pair it with our travel keyboard case add-on for a grab-and-go ergonomic setup anywhere.

Elytra is built from premium CNC aluminum, designed to feel solid yet impossibly light. We took inspiration from beetle elytra — the ultralight yet incredibly strong protective wing cases — and applied the same biomimetic idea to the underside of our CNC aluminum chassis.

Great feel doesn’t happen by accident. That’s why we worked hand-in-hand with Kailh to craft two custom low-profile switches for Elytra—CloudShell White (Linear) and JZF Mist (Silent). They’re smooth, satisfying, and easy to customize thanks to hot-swappable sockets.

Front-facing quad indicator lights keep everything visible—battery, mode, pairing, and connectivity—without needing to flip the board around.

Elytra runs on a custom firmware built in Rust, giving it high performance, rock-solid stability, and improved safety compared to many mainstream keyboards. Beyond classic features like full remapping and macros, you can fine-tune advanced shortcuts such as:

  • Tap-Hold: one key, two functions—tap for one action, hold for another.
  • Tap-Dance: assign multiple outputs depending on how many times you tap.
  • Combo: trigger multiple actions with a single key press.

Every key on Elytra can adapt to your workflow—not the other way around. Fully programmable, and fully yours.
