Traditional plates ignore the way many of us eat. Ours works for everyone, neurodivergent, cultural, and preference-driven meals alike

Plates have been lazy. Flat ones let bread drown, rice swims, and sides merge into a big old mess. Divider plates exist, but they’re either super basic, plastic or childish, not something you’d bring out at a dinner party. We had enough.
So we made Feenie’s Plate: the first section plate in luxurious new bone china. It keeps flavours and textures exactly as they should be, while still looking beautiful on any table. No soggy bread, no drowned rice, no chaotic pileups. Just meals that hold their own, layered, textured, and flavor-rich, from roti and curry to mezze and khubz, or pasta and salad. The plate that protects the key components of your meal.
Feenie’s Plate isn’t just dinnerware, it’s a quiet revolution at the table. The idea was sparked by a daughter with ADHD who likes to keep her food separate and the universal frustration of flat plates that don’t really work. Out of that came something smarter, more thoughtful, and, frankly, better looking.

What started small has turned into something much bigger. One plate that works for every meal, every cuisine, every table; and designed to change the way we eat and make every dinner feel just a little more beautiful.
After countless designs, models, prototypes, and rejections from manufacturers who said the idea “would never work”, Feenie’s Plate is finally here.

Feenie’s Plate is thoughtfully designed to keep bread soft, rice fluffy, and sides crisp, so every dish stays just as it should. From curry with bread, stew with rice, and mezze with dips, to fufu with soup, pasta with sauce, or classics like mac & cheese or club sandwiches. It adapts to global cuisines and honours your meal, no matter what you eat.

One plate does it all, no stacks of extra dishes. Minimalist, practical, and perfect for modern homes, designed for everyday dining. Made from durable, luxurious new-bone china, it’s microwave and dishwasher safe. Tough enough for daily family meals, reheats, picnics (tried and tested!), and quick clean-ups, yet elegant enough for any table.

Inspired by the founder’s daughter with ADHD, Feenie’s Plate is designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, bringing order and comfort to mealtimes for anyone who prefers their food kept separate. Its elegant, functional design makes eating both mindful and stress-free.

Outdoor meals come with the same struggle, flimsy paper plates that collapse, messy disposables that pile up, or carrying too many dishes. Feenie’s Plate solves it all with one strong, sustainable, all-in-one plate built for real food and real adventures. Simple, clutter-free, and made to last, because outdoor meals should be about joy, not juggling plates.

Feenie’s Plate brings together ethical innovation and artistic design. Crafted from vegan new bone china, it offers the strength, translucence, and luminous white finish of traditional bone china, without animal materials, making it truly sustainable luxury. Inspired by Persian and South Asian art, each plate is not only functional but also a conversation piece, turning every meal into an elevated experience.

Food brings people together and so does this plate, loved in kitchens and homes worldwide. Chefs love it, foodies can’t stop talking about it, and soon, it’ll be on your table too. Check out some of the words from chefs!

I’m Feenie, plate rebel, magpie for all things shiny, founder of Feenie’s Table and unapologetically obsessed with tableware, tablescapes and how people eat. I’m also mother to two wonderful girls, one of whom has a quirky eating style and was the inspiration behind the project. So, what started as something personal has grown into something much bigger, and I’m delighted to share it with all of you!

After having this little idea and with what little experience I had – I started drawing and modelling at home on my 3D printer (this wasn’t easy, I’m a luddite when it comes to tech!) Once I had a broad idea on the design, I started reaching out to manufacturers and this was where the ‘fun’ began. I received so many rejections (insert sobbing) from manufacturers based across the globe and was told by many that my idea would never work – or in order for them to even attempt a prototype it would cost me a small fortune.
BUT, after contacting over 70 manufacturers – I managed to find one who agreed to work with me (hurrah!) under the provision it might fail, and I would carry all the risk. It took over a year of designing, re-designing, testing, ordering sample after sample, watching prototypes crack, collapse, bend, lose shape, compromise form, dimensions, quality – failing time after time. But I was a mama on a mission and wanted to create a plate that worked for my family as well as others who ate differently – regardless of eating preference, background of cuisine.
I hired three different manufacturers to try and create the plate I wanted. But to this day – only one of them has been able to crack it (pun not intended!) It was a very proud moment to be able to create Feenie’s Table plate with a dedicated section to protect the key elements of your meal. Not to toot my own horn, but you’ll be hard pressed to find another plate just like it, which was why I ending up making it in the first place! A custom plate in new bone china with a perfectly curved wall allowing you to control and enjoy your own meal in style. Not forgetting the art which is both South Asian and Persian influenced – something you don’t see in tableware very often. Note: you may find section plates in other types of material (earthenware, melamine, steel, plastic, disposable), but not in the fine, elevated material I wanted – which was my objective!

So, while it started as a solution for my own family – and we genuinely use the plates every day, it resonated with many which has been both humbling and wonderful. I’m so glad people have responded in the way that they have and hope you enjoy the plates as much as this table-obsessed magpie has enjoyed making them.
Personally, I’ve never believed that culture or the way you eat should be hidden, especially at the table – the place where stories are shared and traditions are passed on. This campaign is as much about building community and representation as it is about the product itself.
So, what’s next? If this campaign is successful, (and I hope it is!) I’ll expand the range to include standard dinner plates, mugs, bowls, teapots, cake-plates (absolutely OBSESSED with them) and launch it online. Ultimately, I want to design plates that represent ALL cultures, all people, all styles – giving everyone a seat at the table. So going forward, I would collaborate with people from all over the world to represent different voices, places, cuisines, stories, experiences. I mean, that would be the dream!
My mission is to create tableware that is representative; honouring culture and different eating styles without compromise. Giving everyone a seat at the table, to eat their way.
So, whilst it began as a small act for my daughter. With your support, it can grow into something far bigger: a way to bring presence, joy, and belonging to tables everywhere.
Thank you for your support, love and reading my story!
With love,
Feenie
