The HoloBike’s panoramic light-field display envelopes your senses, giving a visceral sense that you’re there on the trail.

Leveraging the neuroscience of optic flow

The stereoscopic viewport simulates the human perception of moving through 3D space, a phenomenon known as optic flow that is fundamental to what makes training outdoors so invigorating (and is the basis for a branch of psychology known as EMDR). By unlocking that for indoor training, the HoloBike achieves similar mood-boosting benefits while riders tour digital twins of Earth’s most epic trails.

The HoloBike accommodates a height range of 4’11” (150cm) up to 6’4″ (193cm).

Collaborating with LAYER

Saga collaborated with London-based industrial design firm, LAYER to define an iconic architecture that evokes the storied heritage of cycling.

How it started…

The concept for the HoloBike originated while cycling through the Andes mountains outside Medellin, Colombia. And it has been developed and refined in Santa Monica, California over the past 3 years.

Built from our love of cycling

While locked down outside Medellin during the pandemic in 2020 and passing the days cycling, Samuel, Saga’s founder, observed that the sense of motion seemed to make the time pass faster – riding for 3 hours outdoors was less monotonous than even a 10 minute ride on a stationary exercise bike in the gym.

With a global team of experts, we began developing the HoloBike to enhance indoor training without cumbersome VR headsets, instead using knowledge of hologram technology honed at leading Silicon Valley research labs.

With the HoloBike, we’re introducing the holographic future of fitness free from headsets or eyewear for the first time.
