OUR INSPIRATION
Instead of a simple timekeeper, we approach the watch as an art canvas with a unique possibility: movement. We re-imagine time to create visual beauty, and perhaps even philosophical meaning.
KINETIC ART
We drew inspiration from the Kinetic Art movement, vibrant in the early 20th century. Kinetic artists used movement to create beauty, creating innovative visual experiences that compelled the viewer to become an active part of the artistic process.
PHILOSOPHY
In the modern world, time has become a number that regiments our lives. Our designs reject this. Instead of a keeper of routine, our watches turn time into spellbinding art, revealing the beauty of the flowing present.
Time is no longer a number — time is beauty, time is art. The present is no longer to be planned away, but to be appreciated, as the flow of time mesmerizes and enchants us.

OUR NEW COLLECTION
We have learned a lot since our founding 5 years ago, and have put it all into this new collection. The 42mm case in our new collection builds on the minimalism of our 39mm, with refinements that enhance its elegance.
Alternating polished and brushed bands break up and add variety to the circumference of the case, and a dual-finished curved dial adds depth and a play of light around our kinetic designs.
THE DESIGNS
Our two new designs, Hwan and Eidos, veer in different directions, with the former building on our past concepts, and the latter striking out into newer explorations. Kato and Rhizome, our seasoned favorites, join them in the new 42mm case.
Our designs and descriptions are intentionally abstract, so they can act as springboards from which each viewer can draw different personal meanings and inspirations.
HWAN
A re-imagination of our classical concepts, an elegant arrangement of perfect circles results in an endless folding and unfolding of density and space.
EIDOS
Breaking past flatter interactions, this design is a deliberate exploration with minimalist constructions, to create illusions of depth and form. In it, waxing and waning become dependent on each other.
KATO
Founded on the simplicity of concentric circles, this design achieves a harmonious complexity. Different layers of petals bloom alternately, slowly building up to a climax as 48 petals all open simultaneously.
Rhizome
Perhaps our most ambitious design, this design draws you in and confuses you. A deceptive symmetry creates the simultaneous illusion of expansion and contraction. The design returns briefly to a balance, before beginning its journey again.

OUR CRAFTSMANSHIP
Great designs need a strong foundation. Every one of our watches is meticulously crafted from premium materials sourced from around the world, and painstakingly quality-controlled.
We consider ourselves a veteran watch design studio now. In our 6 years of repeated production, we have continuously refined our processes with feedback from thousands of customers. Our watches have become even more resilient and polished.
WHAT IS AN AUTOMATIC WATCH?
Unlike quartz watches which are powered by batteries, automatic watches are powered by human motion. Your arm’s movement propels the hundreds of gears and springs precisely assembled in the watch mechanism — a refreshing change from the electronic circuitry we have gotten so used to.
The Japanese Seiko NH35A that powers our watch is famed for its durability and reliability. A generation ahead of the already robust 7S26, the NH35A is more refined and more accurate.
DUAL-FINISHED 316L SURGICAL STEEL CASE
Our new 42mm case retains the minimalism of its 39mm predecessor, with careful symmetries, and clean forms. Polished bands and gentle curves now add variety and visual interest, enhancing its refined elegance.
The case is made from brushed 316L surgical steel, a step above the more common and less resilient 304L steel.
DUAL-FINISHED CURVE DIAL
Another refining detail added to our 42mm collection is its sector dial. The curved brushed ring adds depth and a play of light, with indented indicators subtly telling time.
SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL
Sapphire Crystal is incredibly scratch-resistant, rating ‘9’ on the Mohs scale of hardness, just a spot behind diamonds. We use sapphire crystal for both the top and bottom glass, with additional anti-reflective coating applied on the top glass.
KINETIC ART DISCS
To ensure accuracy and durability, our discs are impossibly thin and light. Products of years of research, these discs are crafted with proprietary Japanese technology.
ITALIAN LEATHER
We use full-grain leather for our straps — the strongest and most natural-looking type of leather, as it comes from the uppermost surface of the hide, where all the “grain” is preserved.
Our leather is vegetable-tanned — a natural leather processing method that is much more time-consuming than the more commonly found chemical-based chrome-tanning method.
All our straps are built with quick-release pins, allowing you to easily change styles.
QUALITY CONTROL
At Humism, we are perfectionists. All watches are put through a series of stringent quality control tests, such as water resistance and drop tests. We manually regulate each watch to ensure they keep time accurately.
Multiple inspections are carried out throughout the assembly process, and each watch undergoes a final painstaking personal inspection before packaging.
Our watches come with an 18-month warranty.
