🌱 What if your desktop wasn’t just a work tool, but a forest that grows when you rest?

We’re creating Kinder World: Mother Tree as a cozy desktop companion, helping you take regular breaks to give your body and mind what it needs.

It’s a web-based space to keep open while you work or study. It’s a digital forest that grows gently as you do. It’s a cozy game world that you help shape through quiet self-care.

Every day you’ll be invited to pull a Rest Card, pause, breathe, and stretch.

Your Rest Cards are part of a growing collection, each one beautifully illustrated by independent artists, and instructing you on small rituals of care. Over time, you’ll be able to personalize your rest routine, collect and trade unique cards, and even bring them into your offline life with physical cards you can keep nearby, wherever you go.

This is rest, reimagined – something beautiful, personal, and entirely yours.

At Lumi Interactive, we’re here for the tired ones: the overextended, the burned out, the ones quietly holding it all together. Our mission is to create gentle, restorative experiences that help people pause, breathe, and feel cared for.

We began with Kinder World: Cozy Plants, where we tested short, science-backed exercises to support emotional rest. Millions joined us, watering virtual plants and caring for themselves in small, soothing ways.

What we discovered was quietly powerful: when rest is non‑judgmental, playful, and easy to return to, it becomes a habit people want to keep – often coming back not just for themselves, but to share kindness with others.

Now, our next step is to explore the full spectrum of rest (creative, physical, sensory, and more) and bring it to where so many of us need it most: your desk.

Kinder World: Mother Tree is designed for the remote workers quietly burning out, the students buried in back‑to‑back tabs, and anyone craving a gentle pause in their day.

We’re creating a world that grows not from effort, but from the simple act of taking a moment to rest.

Kinder World: Mother Tree is a cozy web-based desktop companion designed to sit quietly beside you while you work or study, inviting you to take small, meaningful breaks throughout the day.

At the heart of the experience are Rest Cards: short, gentle activities inspired by the 7 types of rest. Whether it’s a physical stretch, a sensory reset, or a moment of reflection, each card is a chance to pause, breathe, and come back to yourself.

You’ll choose the cards that suit your day, and the forest will grow each time you take a moment to rest. Over time, your deck becomes a personal ritual of care, built from cards you love, illustrated by independent artists, and even available in physical form to carry with you wherever you go.

No pressure. No goals to chase. Just small moments of kindness, beautifully made, and a quiet forest that grows with you.

You don’t need an hour to feel better – just a moment. A short pause between meetings, after an hour of sitting, or as part of your Pomodoro routine. Mother Tree is designed to fit into these everyday spaces with ease, featuring relaxing music and soundscapes by musicians Justin Cavenagh and Kevin Olson.

Each time you take a break, you’ll pull a Rest Card: a gentle, illustrated invitation to do something kind for yourself. Stretch your shoulders. Let your senses reset. Breathe, slowly. These are small, science-informed rituals that help your body and mind feel just a little more cared for.

And when you rest, the forest responds. Leaves flutter. A new sprout appears. Sometimes, a creature peeks out to say hello. The more you pause, the more the world quietly grows around you – a gentle reminder that your rest matters.

As you try different Rest Cards, you’ll begin to notice what works for you.

Maybe you need creative rest on Mondays, or a sensory reset after midday meetings.

Each day, you’ll choose the cards that suit your mood, your needs, your rhythm.

Over time, your deck becomes personal – a ritual built from small choices that feel good to return to.

Each Rest Card is a tiny work of art crafted by independent artists around the world without any generative AI. Some arrive in themed sets, others appear during seasonal events or collaborations with creators we love – including packs created in collaboration with the likes of PondHQMaobabie and Namocchi.

As you rest, you’ll unlock new cards to collect, admire and share. You might find joy in completing a calming set, or simply holding onto the cards that feel most like you.

Over time, your growing collection becomes something more than just beautiful; it becomes a reflection of your journey. A quiet space you’ve shaped yourself. One you’ll want to return to, again and again.

Rest doesn’t have to end when you leave your computer.

We’re also creating physical Rest Cards: beautiful, printed companions you can carry with you.

Keep one on your desk. Tuck one in your journal. Gift one to someone who needs it.

These cards are a way to hold rest in your hands. To take it with you.

To remember, wherever you are, that rest is always within reach.

Example of physical Kinder World: Mother Tree rest cards – prototype design.

With over 2 million downloads on mobile, we’ve seen firsthand what happens when people are given space to slow down. Just two minutes of a restful activity, paired with a small act of community kindness, can leave you feeling calmer, more grounded, and more open-hearted.

We’ve learned that rest isn’t just about recovery. It’s about reconnection with ourselves, and with each other.

Now, with Mother Tree, we’re inviting you to help us take that further.

Imagine what could happen if 10 million people made rest a shared ritual. If 10 million people felt just a little kinder to themselves, and to the world around them.

Let’s grow that future together. One pause, one card, and one quiet moment at a time.

We brought our original Kinder World game to Kickstarter years ago, and it has been such an honor to work with our backers and players to grow our game world to over 2 million downloads and counting.

As we expand the universe with Kinder World: Mother Tree, we want to discover and connect with passionate people that believe games like these can help us all create a better future together.

Close collaboration with our early believers has influenced our work with Kinder World in such a beneficial way, and we can never thank them (and you!) enough. We can’t wait to grow Kinder World: Mother Tree with both returning and new backers!

Please note that for any physical rewards, shipping will be charged in the pledge manager after the completion of the campaign.

We have an estimated range of the shipping costs in the backing experience on Kickstarter for most countries, but especially due to the fluctuation of US tariffs on other countries, we cannot guarantee a future shipping cost. We will always seek the most cost effective shipping method at the time of fulfillment, on a per-country basis. 👍🏼
