Place Kini in any drawer where you keep your private correspondence, legal papers, passports, checkbooks, the keys to a safe, or where you might store more intimate items. The sky’s the limit here. The movement of the drawer being pulled open will immediately trigger Kini to send you a notification.

Hang Kini using the steel cable tether that’s included, such as off the handle of a restricted cabinet or from your prized possessions. Dangling Kini on the inside doorknob of an exterior door offers a simple solution, providing an early warning that allows for timely intervention.

Attach Kini by using the enclosed 3M Dual Lock tape to any door or flat surface. You can easily remove it for recharging or any other reason. This tape is the next level from hook-and-loop fasteners. It grasps better and lasts longer. It’s also quieter and tighter and has a shorter profile, when bonded.

How Does Kini Work?

Very simply, Kini is designed to sense any small movement of itself. 

• It uses the same accelerometer technology that is built into your smartphone, which wakes up the screen when you lift the phone, among many other uses. 
• When Kini detects just a few millimeters of movement, it wakes up and sends a message over your Wi-Fi network to our servers in the cloud. 
• From there, an SMS/text message is sent to the phone number you have provided. 
• We’ll also add the name you set for that Kini to the text message, so you knowwhich specific Kini has sensed movement.

While waiting for an event,

• Kini will periodically make a call to our cloud servers to report its battery level and health. 
• If our servers do not hear from a Kini in a predetermined period of time, which is customizable, you’ll be sent a text message telling you that the Kini may have been disabled, or your Wi-Fi or network connection is problematic. 
• This alerts you if someone has attempted a breach, by severing the network or destroying the Kini.

• The only requisites are an SMS-capable phone and a functioning (2.4 GHz) Wi-Fi network.
• Anyone with a phone (Android, iPhone, feature phone) can use Kini.
