We are a small toy design company located in Hong Kong. We mainly design educational toys, especially the design and development of magnetic educational building blocks.
We have been deeply involved in this industry for 6 years. During this period, although we designed several similar products related to magnetic Toys, the products we developed are similar to the common magnetic tiles on the market, without much update and iteration. In November 2023, we learned through analysis of the existing magnetic tiles market that although magnetic building blocks have been very popular in recent years, there are very few figures that belong to magnetic building blocks, or there are no truly original products. Most of the magnetic figure design inspirations are more or less derived from Lego duplo. Although some designs have modified the Lego Figure’s head and legs, the overall design still has elements of Lego dolls.
What Make our M-‘O’-Figure Unique?
What we need to do is to design a figure that is not only completely free from the image of Lego,but also can work with magnetic building blocks, is vivid, cute, interesting, and has certain educational significance.
It is relatively easy to design a vivid and cute Figure, but how to design a Figure that is interesting and educational is a problem for us.
After nearly a month of research and thinking, we want kids to understand some mechanical principles when playing with this toys: for example, the rotation of the hinge, the coordination of the hole and the Boss; so we decided to designe an assembleable Figure, in this way children can understand these mechanical principles during the assembly process, which is very interesting and educational.
We also carefully designed a sticker for each figure. Why do we use stickers? Because it takes a lot of patience and care to put the stickers on the figure. Children will also feel a great sense of accomplishment.
We cleverly combined the M-‘O’-Figure with our horse and our dragon inside, Because we thought that if we just simply designed a figure toy, children would not feel it very interesting. However, if we could play with these figures together, it would have a greater attraction to kids, because currently there is no such way to play with magnetic figures on the market.
What’s more, in order to add more fun to these figures, we also equipped each Figure with different weapons.
Of course ,we will get the bags packed in a nice color box，won’t let the little bag meet you naked.
