Check on Kickstarter

This removable, space-maximizing, sustainably-designed clothes-drying system is all you need in your urban living space, balcony, laundry room, garage, or backyard to lower your laundry costs and carbon footprint.

We’re back, with more carbon-neutral, clothes-drying solutions!

Turns out, there are a lot of people that support our mission of keeping plastic out of the ocean, and turning it into functional, long-lasting, carbon-reducing products.

In fact, in 2020 our NONA Ocean Clothespin Kickstarter Campaign was fully backed, and we’ve sold hundreds of thousands of our durable recycled plastic clothespins since.

Meet the NONA LOOP hang-drying system.

This discrete, recycled ocean plastic hang-drying system was designed to fight three major problems:

  • Ocean plastic
  • Climate change
  • A lack of space to hang-dry laundry

(Tiny spaces want to dry laundry, too!)

That’s why we set out to create the most versatile and sustainable clothes drying system yet…

It is carbon-positive, fights plastic pollution and is made for small spaces.

Turn your balcony, garage, yard, or corner of your home into a carbon-neutral drying space by day (or night), and right back to a living space at night (or day) with this fully recycled, climate-positive clothesline system.

Discrete fixtures, snappy setup, quick removal, and tidy storage. So discrete, you’ll hardly know it was there!

Small yet mighty.

Temporary and unobtrusive fixture. Install in your garden, laundry room, garage, balcony, the corner of your living space, backyard, bathroom, or nearly anywhere else! Stack it, crisscross it, cut corners, zigzag… This NONA LOOP revolutionizes the concept of a clothesline, easing installation and creating a detachable, sturdy clothesline, wherever you need it.

  • Forget flimsy racks with limited airflow set up next to your couch
  • No arduous work pounding poles into the ground
  • Keep precious yard space instead of dedicating it to a clothesline
  • No need for an unsightly permanent structure taking up 10-15 feet across a sunny spot in your yard

It’s not that you can’t create a permanent outdoor setup with your NONA LOOP – it’s just that you no longer have to!

Made for small spaces and creative minds, you can loop anywhere, and un-loop when you need to.

Installation is a breeze.

The NONA LOOP wall mount is the main fixing point for the NONA LOOP system. It can be mounted using the stainless steel screws or adhesive tabs provided, making it perfect for homeowners and renters alike!

  • Simplest of setups
  • Small and discrete fixture
  • Unlimited configurations
  •  Simple ‘tug & lock’ feature to keep line taut
  • Slip in cord can be removed when not in use, freeing up your space again

So simple, anyone can do it. Anyone can undo it too!

Reclaim your space.

Finished drying your laundry? Having company? Need to use your laundry area for something else? No problem!

Reclaim your space in three easy steps:

  • Detach the cord from the wall mount
  • Wrap it
  • Stow it away in your NONA LOOP storage bag

It reassembles in moments for the next time you need to hang laundry.

You may question the strength of a detachable clothesline, but our NONA LOOP Hang-Drying System is as strong as a commercial fishing net.

That’s because the NONA LOOP cord is made exclusively of recycled fishing nets, giving it superior strength to hold your damp clothes as they dry.

(Plus, being made of a single source recycled material means it’s easier to recycle at the end of its life. How cool is that?)

Mounting options.

The system is strongest when the wall mounts are screwed in. It can hold over 7kg – that’s 15 pounds on a single line from mount to mount.

The adhesive version can support up to 1kg, around 2 pounds, making it best for smaller items. Shorter lines and more wall mounts can help expand your clothes-drying hanging capabilities!

Flexible, durable, and super grippy.

The NONA LOOP cord is constructed around a core of 16 strands using a unique circular-knit technology to give incredible strength and flexibility. The knitted micro-ridges offer superior grip, ensuring that clothes stay on the line without leaving any marks.

Maximize your space.

This is where that cord flexibility comes in handy…

With the ‘Return Back’ wall mount fixture, you no longer are restrained to a traditional single-line clothesline.

Using additional mounts, you can run your cord multiple times through the same small space: Across, above, behind… cut corners, cris cross, zig zag.

Get creative and maximize your space! There are limitless configurations for your space-saving, earth-loving, laundry-saving NONA LOOP!

So…how will you loop?

Nice and tidy.

The NONA LOOP storage bag not only holds your excess cord and pins, it’s also a tidy little store-away when your line is not in use. Simply unhook your cord, store it in the pouch, and put it all away.

The storage bag is made from rPET, the main recycled material from water bottles, which are one of the biggest plastic polluters of the oceans.

I’m an environmentalist – Why would I use a plastic product?

Great question.

NONA products are recycled plastic. Plastic doesn’t biodegrade… and the human race has made a huge amount of it. So at NONA, we know that in order to solve the plastic crisis, we need to recover plastic and put it to good use.

We can either store plastic in a landfill, our oceans, or all over our globe where it breaks down and enters our food chains and poisons and starves wildlife… or we can recycle it and store it in functional products that are designed to last.

We chose the latter and created products that also fight climate change.

What will you choose?

Why hang-dry your laundry?

Did you know tumble-drying your clothes can send millions of tiny microplastics into the ocean, and eventually, into our food chain, ending up on your dinner plate? (source Treehugger)

Or that using a tumble dryer for one year emits more carbon than a tree can absorb in 50 years? (source The Waterline)

And if that’s not enough to make you want to hang-dry your clothes, consider this:

Hang drying…

  • Saves energy, which means saving money
  • Is gentler on your fabrics, meaning less stretching, shrinking, and wear and tear
  • Helps clothes last longer and retain their shape better
  • Uses UV light, which kills viruses and odor-creating bacteria naturally
  • Makes clothes smell better naturally, without synthetic, chemically-produced scents to cover up residual, deeply embedded, hard-to-remove smells
  • Reduces the production of microplastics associated with tumble drying
  • And is carbon neutral, lowering your personal carbon footprint

Ocean Plastic – The Problem

Every year 8 million metric tons of plastic enter the world’s oceans.

By 2050 plastic will outweigh fish.

Once plastic enters the oceans, it breaks down into tiny particles called microplastics, which enter the food chain poisoning our food supplies and damaging marine wildlife and oceanic ecosystems.

Oceans are vital to the health of the planet, regulating temperature, weather, air, providing food for millions, and beyond.

In fact, every second breath we breathe was produced in the world’s oceans, which means…

No Oceans, No Air.

Recycling retired fishing gear: How we do it

NONA products are made from discarded fishing nets and support fishing communities and marine ecosystems.

There are times old nets end up in the sea. They break down into microplastics, entrap wildlife, and damage ocean-floor ecosystems. NONA aims to divert old nets before they end up in the ocean and by supporting organisations like Ghost Fishing help to recapture nets lost at sea.

See the video below on our first product, the NONA Clothespin, to explore how we turn discarded fishing gear that could threaten the ocean into useful materials to help fight climate change
