🥂 Preservio — Keep your wine fresh for weeks, not days
I love wine — but I rarely finish a bottle in one night.
And every time I opened one, I’d face the same problem: by the next evening, it just didn’t taste the same.
Flat. Sour. Wasted.
That’s how Preservio started.
An Easy, Sustainable Way to Enjoy Great Wine — Whenever You Want 🍷
A few years ago, Nicola — Preservio’s founder — opened a nice bottle after a long day.
She enjoyed one glass… and the rest sat in the fridge with a cork.
Three days later, it had turned harsh, dull, and undrinkable.
Curious (and frustrated), she looked deeper — and found something shocking:
Over $1.5 billion worth of wine is wasted every year in the U.S. alone simply because it doesn’t stay fresh after opening.
If you love wine, you’ve probably felt it too:
The flavor drops fast
The aroma disappears
The bottle feels “past its moment” before you’re ready
And suddenly that beautiful bottle you were excited about…
tastes like it’s been rinsed down a kitchen sink.
But your wine deserves better.
And so do you.

That Moment Sparked a Mission
Nicola — a wine lover and design-minded problem solver — realized something was missing in the world of wine preservation.
When she looked deeper into why so much wine gets wasted, she noticed a pattern:
Current options simply didn’t fit the way people enjoy wine at home.
Some felt complicated.
Some felt outdated.
Some felt more like specialty tools than everyday essentials.
But where was the solution that was: simple, modern, intuitive, and designed for real life?
It didn’t exist.
So she set out to create it.

✨ Preservio: A Smarter, Hands-Free Way to Keep Wine Fresh for Weeks
Wine preservation has traditionally relied on manual tools or methods that require user judgment.
Preservio introduces a different approach.
Our smart pressure-sensing system automatically removes excess oxygen to a consistent, pre-calibrated level — no guesswork, no over-pumping, no inconsistency. Once the ideal internal pressure is reached, the pump stops on its own with a gentle beep.
Our precision-designed stopper uses a construction-grade interference-fit mechanism that expands inside the bottleneck, creating a robust, long-lasting seal that helps maintain wine quality for weeks.

The result is a simple, quiet, sustainable, and scientifically guided system for modern wine drinkers.

Born from Science, Designed for Everyday Life
What started as frustration has grown into a mission:
To help people enjoy every bottle to the last drop — without waste, without guesswork, and without compromise.

After countless prototypes, conversations with sommeliers, feedback from Michelin-starred restaurants, and rigorous lab testing, Preservio was born — a sleek, intuitive, automatic, and gas-free wine preservation system that works.
No gas.
No waste.
No compromise.
Just weeks of freshness, sealed with science.

Why Preservio?
Preservio is an effective non-gas wine preservation system on the market, keeping wine fresh for weeks — and often over a month — without altering flavor or aroma.
✔ Automatic Precise Pressure Control
Creates a consistent preservation environment without manual pumping.
✔ Precision Pressure Sensing
Calibrates vacuum level based on internal bottle conditions.
✔ Airtight Expandable Silicone Seal
Maintains a stable low-oxygen environment for weeks.
✔ Quiet, Cordless, Hands-Free
Preserves with a single placement—no buttons, no noise.
✔ Multi-week Freshness Stability
Designed to maintain aroma and flavor over extended periods.
✔ Sustainable, No Consumables
No gas cartridges, no disposable parts, no recurring cost.

Our hands-free smart pump is designed to automatically read the internal pressure of the bottle and adjust the vacuum level with high consistency. By using pressure-sensing technology, the pump stops at a pre-calibrated point that supports aroma stability and overall freshness.
Once the pressure is set, the interference-fit silicone stoppers expand naturally inside the bottleneck, forming a tight, durable seal that helps keep external air from entering the bottle.
The combined system — automatic pressure calibration plus an airtight mechanical seal — creates a repeatable, low-effort preservation method designed to maintain the wine’s character for an extended period.
Preservio has been developed over multiple prototype cycles, including new custom tooling and an upgraded stopper geometry designed exclusively for this campaign.

How Preservio Works:

How Preservio Works
1️⃣ Lift the lid of your Preservio stopper.
2️⃣ Place the stopper directly on top of the wine bottle.
3️⃣ Place the electric pump on top (with the stopper’s lid open).
4️⃣ The pump beeps once — it’s started extracting oxygen automatically.
5️⃣ When you hear the second beep, the pump has detected optimal internal pressure and stops on its own.
6️⃣ Remove the pump.
7️⃣ Press down the stopper’s lid to finalize a perfect airtight seal.
That’s it — your wine is now sealed at the scientifically optimal pressure for multi-week preservation.
For best results, refrigerate open bottles and minimize sunlight exposure.

Our Workshop: Packaging & Testing
Behind every Preservio is a commitment to precision.
Our machines for packaging and testing ensure every unit meets the same airtight standard — no leaks, no compromises.

How We Engineered Preservio — A 2-Year Design Journey
Preservio did not begin as a commercial product.
It started two years ago as a simple question:
“How can we preserve wine for weeks without gas cartridges, without leaks, and without damaging flavor?”
To answer that, we went through dozens of prototypes, multiple engineering iterations, and long-term pressure tests. Below is a transparent look into how the Kickstarter edition was developed.
Early Prototypes (2023–2024)
Our first stoppers were hand-poured silicone samples used only for internal testing.
They worked—but not consistently.
Different bottle shapes, different internal pressures, and micro-leaks made it clear that we needed a new approach.
✔ Internal ribs were redesigned
✔ Airflow channels were re-balanced
✔ Material hardness was adjusted repeatedly
These early units helped us understand the physics, but they were only the starting point.

🔧 Engineered for True Long-Lasting Freshness
Precision pressure control × Interference-fit stopper geometry
Preservio isn’t just a pump.
It’s a precision-engineered pressure ecosystem built through two years of mechanical design, iterative prototyping, and lab testing.
To preserve wine for days or even weeks, the stopper plays a more critical role than people realize.
Our engineering goal was simple:
Maintain stable negative pressure inside the bottle for as long as possible.
Below is how we actually engineered it.
1. Redesigned Stopper Geometry (Kickstarter-exclusive version)
Why geometry matters
Most wine stoppers leak slowly because the internal pressure pushes air past the sealing ribs.
We redesigned the stopper geometry from the inside out:
New multi-rib sealing pattern
Thicker interference band for stable compression
Optimized silicone hardness + deformation recovery
New inner airflow channel to improve vacuum retention

2. New Custom Injection Mold (Not the same as earlier prototypes)
While our earlier pilot units helped us gather feedback,
the Kickstarter stopper is made from a completely new mold:
New core-cavity mold geometry
New gate position (better material fill)
New dimensional tolerances
New durometer silicone grade
This is why the Kickstarter version has never been sold anywhere before.

3. Pressure Retention Performance (Real Testing Data)
To validate the new geometry, we ran comparative pressure decay tests:
Testing Method

Fill bottle with controlled amount of wine
Apply vacuum via pump
Record internal pressure over time
Compare experimental curves across stopper designs
Testing Result
The Kickstarter stopper maintains pressure up to 5× longer than conventional stoppers under the same conditions.

Real data, not simulation.
These curves come directly from our pressure log tests during development.
4. Just Right Vacuum Pump: Precision Pressure Control
The pump isn’t just suction. We engineered:
High-flow dual-valve system
Precision check valve
Stable vacuum retention
Low-force ergonomic handle
Durable internal rod structure
The redesigned pump head (Kickstarter version) ensures more consistent pressure drop and less effort per stroke. **The actual pump backers receive will be white colored with all the new functions.

5. Why This Matters for Wine Freshness
Wine oxidizes when oxygen enters the bottle.
By combining:
A vacuum that stays stable, and
A stopper that doesn’t leak
→ You slow oxidation dramatically.
This is why Preservio keeps wine tasting fresh for days or weeks—
and why our pressure graph looks the way it does.
6. Engineering Summary (Simple Version for Non-Engineers)
Airtight seal = Good
Airtight seal that stays airtight = Great
Airtight seal that stays airtight for days or weeks = Only achievable with redesigned geometry + custom tooling
Preservio’s performance does not come from “pumping air out.”
It comes from:
Holding pressure longer than ordinary stoppers can.
That’s the difference our engineering makes.
The Kickstarter version represents the best of two years of iteration, learning, and testing.
