A clean, decisive cut in one press—this is the kind of nail clipper we believe everyone deserves. That simple idea became the foundation of the S+ nail clippers. After launching in our home country, we were humbled by thousands of positive responses.
To bring something special to our Kickstarter community, we’re introducing two new designs inspired by the mountains closest to our hearts—Mount Fuji in Japan, and Mount Jade in our home country, Taiwan. Both feature the mountain’s outline and elevation, bringing an outdoor energy and a sense of adventure.
The difference reveals itself with the very first cut. Trimming your nails can be a daily ritual, so it deserves a tool that’s built to feel right in your hand—sharp enough to finish with one clean motion.
Instead of the stainless steel commonly used in most nail clippers, we chose high-carbon steel—the same type of material traditionally trusted for samurai blades. Known for its exceptional hardness, strength, and wear resistance, high-carbon steel produces a cutting edge that is noticeably sharper and more precise than ordinary nail clippers.
More importantly, high-carbon steel allows the edge to stay sharp far longer over time, maintaining clean, smooth results through years of use. As a result, once you own this one, you won’t need another.
An integrated catcher prevents clippings from flying around, so there’s no need for tissues or a nearby trash can. Wherever you are, just pull your S+ nail clippers out and trim. When you’re done, cleaning up takes just seconds by opening the catcher and emptying it.
Say goodbye to thin, slippery grips. A 4mm thickened handle offers a more comfortable grip, while the balanced length helps direct force forward. No matter your hand size, a clean, controlled cut takes just a gentle press.
Compared to ordinary clippers, S+ nail clippers feature a wider filing surface with finer texture, made for those who value precise finishing. Seamlessly embedded into the body, the file stays firmly in place and is always ready when you need it.
Minimalism defines the design philosophy behind S+ nail clippers. Clean, straight lines and the absence of unnecessary sharp angles create a form that feels calm and pure—one that naturally fits into your home, your bag, or your workspace.
Offered in two distinct premium finishes, these nail clippers are elevated from a simple tool to a crafted object: Silver features a precision-plated coating (メッキ, mekki), while black undergoes a specialized black-dye treatment (黒染め, kurosome).
Four designs are available: dog paw, cat paw, Mount Fuji, and Mount Jade. Each brings a sense of vitality, so you can choose the one that feels most like you.
For over 800 years, Seki City has been synonymous with blades. The techniques once developed to forge samurai swords (刀, katana) have been passed down through generations—and are still used today in some of the world’s finest cutting tools. That legacy is exactly why we chose to make this nail cutter in Seki.
Our partner in Seki City has over 70 years of experience in blade-making. Each cutting edge is carefully refined through multiple angles and stages of hand-finishing, and must pass rigorous standards before it leaves the workshop.
A vegetable-tanned leather sheath is specifically designed for the nail clippers to add peace of mind to everyday storage and carry. While preserving the leather’s original grain and subtle, natural scent, it gradually develops a warm, personal patina through regular use.
This extra layer of refined protection helps keep out moisture and dust while making the nail clippers easy to carry with you. With its quick-access design, you can unfasten the brass snap and lift upward to retrieve the clippers smoothly.
Over the past 5 years, we’ve proudly launched four successful projects on Kickstarter—S+ Cutlery, S+ Pure Eco, S+ Pure Pro and S+ Pure Thermos. We’re grateful for the incredible support and feedback from our community, which has been instrumental in shaping our products. We believe good design should quietly improve daily life. With the S+ nail clippers, we set out to create a nail-trimming experience that feels completely new.
