With the Companion Cup, effortlessly share images or GIF’s instantly across different locations from your Companion Hub account; connecting clients or teams with a touch of creativity and engagement.

Applet Carousel is your home if you are playing solo. Using Applet Carousel, you can add any number of Applets to be displayed on your Cup or Mug using the Trexo Companion App, and lightly tap on your Companion Cup to rotate between them. Tap the added Applet on your mobile device to open it and make changes. Hold and drag applets on the grid to rearrange the Applets’ order and use the toggle switch to temporarily disable them.

R&D Processes and Countless Iterations

Our team worked tirelessly to design this unique product, destined to enhance your daily routines.

We initially had the idea of a coffee cup that could display images that you could edit and create through an app, to share with oneself or others, via the means of a rotating base and a small display. Throughout our development process we realized this project could be much more than we had anticipated. We decided to create a system where you could share pictures and gif’s through the app to other peoples’ cups also. We didn’t stop there. We added extra functionality through what we call Applets to have some productivity tools on board as well. We also initially had the idea of having the actual cup part be made out of high quality ceramics, however that proved to be difficult due to manufacturing tolerances and heat conduction to the electronics being concerns. So we skipped that and decided to have a double walled insulated stainless steel cup, and also a travel mug option with a lid. That way we eliminated the difficulties of working with ceramics and the beverages retain their temperatures for longer now.

ur team used designs we drafted for injection molding and used FDM and DLP 3D printing technologies tirelessly to get our prototypes in order. The DLP prints proved to have a superb surface finish and we used those prototypes for filming. We are planning on using recycled ABS plastics for the final enclosure to ensure sustainability in the long run.

Through intensive R&D processes and countless iterations, embarking on a journey of contiuous development and revisiting our strategies, we have cultivated this creation.
