We’ve designed the perfect ball

We’re serious. Yardball is the perfect shape, weight, and size to toss around anywhere. Throw it around while brainstorming your next big project or take it outside and throw it with your kiddos, no gloves required.

Sewn by hand in the USA (Kansas City, to be exact!) Yardball is crafted from durable USA Tanned leather with an all-natural wool and cotton core. It features just the right amount of grip, firmness, and give for hands of all sizes.

Born from the founders of Sandlot, Yardball embodies spontaneous fun. What began as a ratty tape ball with just the right shape and weight to chuck around our office or at a tailgate has become so much more. After countless prototypes, experimentation, and hours spent quality testing, we’ve finally found the perfect ball for all. So, c’mon, give it a try! 

Yardball can be played almost anywhere fun can be found.

 We found the best use of a glove box since, well, gloves. 

 We came straight from work to a tailgate and were still able to play catch next to the pair with gloves. We love the sound of the ball during catch!

 Softness for that broken-in feel 

The research and care that went into selecting the materials has resulted in a Yardball that has that broken-in feel right out of the packaging. Crack open that box and start playing catch in moments. Miss the ball while playing catch? Unless Bo Jackson threw the Yardball we wouldn’t expect it to hurt. Hit a car? Also same scenario featuring an MLB player, likely no dents, which makes it the perfect tailgate companion.

 We did not stop until we found the perfect leather.

 Wound and Stitched by Hand 

 Our team of artisans meticulously hand wind our cotton and wool cores and stitch all 108 stitches by hand. It’s a labor of love that pays off in a big way with a perfectly sized ball with that handmade charm.

 The Origin of Yardball 

One day when cleaning up after an office painting project we began rolling blue painter’s tape into a ball. That ball became a mainstay at the office. It was tossed around during brainstorming sessions, taken outside when we just needed a toss, and thrown up in the air while on a call. It became the coveted office fidget. The brainstorming sessions about our day jobs turned into brainstorming sessions about how we could create a Yardball for the masses; everyone deserves this great little brainstorming tool turned tailgate mainstay.
