Is dealing with leftovers a nightmare to you? Maybe the idea of composting has been on your mind: going green and turning food waste into organic and rich material for your lovely plants, sounds like a win-win solution. But what’s holding you back? Could be the funny smells, flies come poking around and having no yard-space to properly store the scraps…

We want to offer you an elegant and easy way to repurpose the food scraps. With the aerated composting method featuring RE Green’s patented design, it is odorlesspest free and creates nutrient-dense compost within weeks, whereas the natural decomposition process takes months to complete.

It doesn’t require any electricity to run RE Green’s device, thus no extra heat is generated in the process, conserving a full spectrum of essential nutrients. Unlike RE Green, the end-product of most electric composters is sterile and flaky. The heat dries out the food waste, but kills the beneficial microbes, turning them into plain dehydrated wastes that may even harm your plants.

The composting bin is crafted out of strong and corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. The minimalist design fits in with any home decor, and won’t take up much space compared with the electric ones. RE Green zero waste composter kit is easy to use and specially designed for urban gardeners and composting newbies. Now, you can produce some homemade rich compost to feed your plants and improve the soil!

Composting with RE Green is easy and fun, with a few simple steps, you can effortlessly turn kitchen scraps into nourishing compost that helps keep your plants thriving!

Taking inspiration from coffee bean grinders, RE Green features its patented stainless steel shredding system that makes grinding food waste a breeze. Simply insert kitchen waste from the opening and turn the rotating arm to start shredding.

Mashing the raw food leftover into tinier pieces reduces the volume up to 80%, increases the contact area and accelerates the composting process.

Compost accelerator and similar products contain enzymes, which is the key element to speeding up the biodegradation process. After the shredded kitchen waste goes into the composting bin, add enough enzymes to cover the surface of your raw food waste.

Mix the food scraps and enzymes well to aerate the mixture. Sprinkle another thin layer of enzymes just to cover the surface of the mixture to finish, no need to stir again.

The natural rotting process may take up to 3 to 6 months. With the help of enzymes, microorganisms get the nutrition they need to biodegrade the organic waste, and your compost can be ready within weeks! Choices like compost accelerator, compost starter, compost activator, compost booster etc. Offer the similar effect of accelerating the decomposition process.

RE Green is specially designed for indoor composting, it will not attract undesirable pests and rodents nor create funny smells.

The silicone lid pest proofs your compost, so you can rest assured that when the lid is fully closed, no unwanted visitors will come poking around. A small piece of activated carbon screen covers the vent hole of the aeration tube, ousting the odors while allowing airflow.

RE Green aeration tube is made out of alloy, and has large holes drilled through its length creating air passage. An ample supply of oxygen is essential for composting, for keeping your compost ventilated can prevent unpleasant smells.

RE Green composting bin has a  volume of 2L, sufficient for a family of four to compost their kitchen waste for a week. Repeat Steps 1 to 3 every day until the composting bin is full. When the bin is full, you may transfer the scraps to other composting bin for storage, set it aside as the mixture continues to decompose.

A great bonus for using RE Green is that you can collect compost tea before the food scraps fully transform into compost! It contains numerous nutrients that will help your plants and veggies grow better.

The glass tray is designed to collect the compost tea brewed out of the food scraps, draining through the small holes. We recommend diluting  the compost tea at a  ratio of 1:10 or up to 1:100 based on the density of the compost tea. As time goes by, the denser it will be, and the more water you’ll need for dilution.

Proper moisture is vital to composting, but having too much moisture increases the chance of molding. The excess water also fills the air space, turning it into an anaerobic process that produces bad smells.

We suggest a moisture content of 60%, but if you don’t have a professional measuring tool, a quick, hands-on visual check will do the job as well. It should be crumbly and flow through the tines when you scoop a handful from the bin with a small garden fork or trowel. It may be too moist if the compost balls hold their form, then the addition of wood shavings will be needed. If the pile is too dry, simply spray some water and give it a stir.

Chippings from natural wood will do the work, but do notice that if the lumber is treated and  processed chemically, it will kill the good bacteria in compost. Wood shaving bedding for pet hamsters and rabbits, such as aspen and hemp bedding, are ideal options as well.

When your compost looks like crumbled chocolate cake (yum!) and smells like soil, they have become the nutrient-rich material that all gardeners are after! The wide-mouth design makes collecting your compost truly effortless.

Composting is one of the best ways to recycle and to own the healthiest garden you can have! The compost enriches the soil and produces beneficial bacteria to help the growth of your plants without applying chemical products. You can now easily produce nutritious treats for your garden, with RE Green zero waste composter kit!

We offer additional RE Green composting bins as add-on option for backers that hope to collect kitchen waste and make compost more frequently, but here, we’d also like to provide some alternative ideas for you to create your own composting bin at home!

 What you’ll need

Materials: Empty big soda bottle (around 2L), RE Green DIY Kit (aeration tube & silicone lid, available as add-on)

Tools: Scissors, utility knife, wide tape, electric drill or pushpin (optional)

 Follow the steps

1. Measure starting from the cap of the bottle with the aeration tube, cut off the excess bottom part of the bottle.

2. Unscrew the cap a little to create some space (or you can drill or poke a hole in the cap as well with an electric drill or a pushpin), this is to allow the compost tea to drain through.

3. With the cap facing down, place it down on the bottom of the bottle that is cut off. Use a wide tape to secure it.

4. Transfer your food scraps mixture from RE Green’s bin.

5. Close the opening of the top part of the bottle with lid and aeration tube.

6. Done! Every time you add some new scraps, stir it to mix well and cover with the lid after.

(Note: The results may vary depending on different factors. )
