How Are El Verano Shirts Different?

Like cooking, choosing fresh ingredients is not only vital to your health, but it can also be one of the deciding factors between a good plate of food, and something revolutionary, worthy of a Michelin star. This philosophy runs in our DNA and it is what we brought to the table when developing El Verano’s fabric, which consists of 3 main innovations technically engineered from the ground up (literally!).

Innovation 01 – Crafting The Perfect Blend

Like how farm-to-table yields the freshest ingredients, we use the highest quality fibers to weave our El Verano fabric under a vertical production system, in order to maintain premium quality throughout our supply chain, from farm to factory.

Both cotton and hemp fibers are known to contain a range of natural properties designed to keep you comfortable and protected from the elements. By combining these two wonder fibers together, not only can we reap the technical benefits of both worlds, but we are also able to keep this fabric 100% organic, natural, and plant-based – making this our most eco-friendly yet technical fabric in our collection to date.

Ultralight organic cotton provides extreme softness while organic compacted hemp yarn provides extra durability and more. — Full features are explained in more detail at the bottom of the page.

Innovation 02 – Maximising The Yarn Count

Just like some strawberries taste sweeter than others, our fibers go through VIP treatments to offer unparalleled functionalities over conventional fibers.

The quality of fibers can be defined by the number of ‘yarn count‘ or ‘S‘ (single count) for short. The higher the number, the finer the fibers will be. In short, finer fibers = softer and more premium fabrics.

40S organic combed hemp and 60S organic combed cotton — We use a much higher yarn count in our fabric than conventional products.

To put this into perspective, most conventional cotton or hemp shirts are made with only 20/30s yarn. We go one step further and use long combed fibers instead of the conventional carded yarn, making our yarn even cleaner, finer, stronger, and more lustrous than our counterpart.

Innovation 03 – Rapid Cooling With Ripstop-Air™

Micro perforations on the fabric allow body heat to disperse quickly, rapidly cooling the body.

The El Verano fabric weighs only 80gsm and while conventional ultralight fabrics tend to sacrifice durability, our fabric uses a revolutionary weaving technique that not only enhances the durability of the fabric but also creates micro-perforations to allow body heat to disperse before it ever turns into sweat. We call this Ripstop-Air™.

The precision of weaving ultra-thin, 100% natural yarn to create our El Verano Ripstop-Air™ fabric can only be achieved by another unique yarn spinning technique called compact ring-spun, which tightly spins and compacts our yarn with unprecedented consistency. This results in a more durable, anti-pilling fabric that is in its own class in terms of how light it weighs, yet it still provides full coverage.

With the El Verano shirts, we wanted to push the technical boundaries of what is possible by using only 100% natural materials in a product, and without adding any performance-based chemicals that are often found with typical synthetic shirts.

With a fabric weight of only 2.8oz/80g, we are able to create a shirt that feels like you are not wearing a shirt.

Even though the shirt is ultralight, it does not sacrifice durability due to its unique ripstop air construction blended with the world’s strongest natural fiber – hemp.

The camp collar offers the perfect balance between function and style. Naturally more cooling than traditional collars, our camp collar design can also be buttoned up for a more formal look. Switch between a vacation to city style with ease.

Corozo button is extremely durable and scratch resistant.

Corozo nuts are extremely durable and scratch resistant. Buttons made out of this unique material can be identified by their one-of-a-kind pattern. These buttons are stronger and more eco-friendly than cheap plastic ones. They also look much better!

5. Modern Square Split Hem

The Square hem style has a more modern look than traditional shirts which are curved and uneven at the bottom. We added a slight split on the sides to allow even more room for movement. These are the little details that count!
