Check on Kickstarter

Hey everyone 👋 We’re Amy & Bryce, the creators of GoodEgg™

We started GoodEgg because we have a passion for backyard animals and sustainable, local food. We love our little flock and the eggs they provide our family. We LOVE that we can keep our eggs fresh for many weeks on the shelf (even fresh for years if you “water glass” them), but when it comes time to eat them, cleaning and sanitizing a delicate egg with its unique surface and shape is honestly not a fun chore.

 IYKYK 😬🥚💩🥚💩🥚😵

Every egg passes through the same orifice as feces and reproductive fluid 😃 yummy! Nature protects the inside of the egg with a special protective coating called “bloom” as it exits the bird’s cloaca. The bloom keeps contagion from penetrating the shell and allows eggs to be stored at room temperature for weeks. It also means the egg is fine beneath the bloom, but on the surface there may be poop, mud, bacteria, viruses, straw, feathers, or a whole fam damnily of contaminants!

Pastured eggs tend to be higher in nutrients and keeping backyard eggs fresh for weeks is one of the best benefits of yard farming! Just gently knock off the obvious debris, store them in a cool, indoor spot and let the Bloom do its job. However, it is highly recommended that every egg be properly cleaned and sanitized before eating — even (especially) if boiling.

It’s time to stop cleaning precious eggs with scrubbers, washcloths, sponges, dish brushes, or anything else that was never designed to effectively remove disease and debris (or might introduce even different germs into your omelette or cookie dough). So when you’re ready to eat, Get GoodEgg. You’ll love it.  (perfect egg brush image below)

So when you’re ready to eat, GoodEgg is perfect for the job!

GoodEgg is specifically designed to cradle the unique shape of eggs and make highly-effective contact on hundreds of spots across the shell. Its 600+ flexible silicone nubs are deliberately sized and placed in a proprietary pattern to maximize debris removal while helping to prevent cracking the egg. You’ll get the hang of the flexible pressure and love how simple and quick this formerly tedious chore becomes. 🤌

The nest-style design of the brush cradle allows for easy drainage of our natural enzyme cleanser and passive air flow for quick drying.

And if you need a little extra oomph! in your elbow grease —you can squeeze the rim and expose one of the many rib-like squeegees around the bottom edge.

Water isn’t enough for your hands after #2, is it? “But mom… they’re clean!!”

Uh yeah, they’re not. 🫵 Mom was right. Mom is always right. Listen to Mom.

You need a surfactant to get truly clean. Surfactants decrease surface tension between two liquids or a liquid and a solid. Surfactants help lift dirt, debris, stains, and bacteria and viruses, etc., far more effectively than water alone. Soap is a surfactant. But we’re not using soap. We’re using the power of enzymes.

Once again, the Bloom on eggs protects against any surface contaminants penetrating the shell and keeps them shelf-stable for weeks. But once it’s time to eat those superfood bird butt nuggets… they should be cleaned!!! Sanitized by all-natural enzymes is even better.

Introducing GoodEgg™ Wash — All Natural Enzyme Cleanser

We’ve worked with America’s best (bacteria-free) enzyme labs and production facility to bring you an amazing 99% organic food-grade cleanser for eggs that will not penetrate the shell. GoodEgg Wash is unbelievably effective at loosening stuck-on debris and contaminants, and combined with the GoodEgg brush, getting your eggs ready to eat has never been easier!

If some things can be good, better, or best… knocking off the debris before eating an egg is good. Washing with water and a GoodEgg brush is way better. But rubbing the eggs down with GoodEgg Wash AND scrubbing with the GoodEgg brush is BEST. In fact, it’s incredible!

Maybe we should’ve called the brand IncrediblEgg™ 😉🤭

Our wash contains no soaps and no bleach. No more struggling to scrub off glued-on mud, poop, feathers, etc. GoodEgg Wash practically melts everything off the egg. After you’re done scrubbing, simply use some water to give the eggs their final rinse before eating. ✨😋

If you’re anything like us, you’ve got a flock of many colors, and eggs of all sizes too!

GoodEgg has you covered. Our “powder pink” colored brush is sized for small-to-medium eggs, and best for pee-wee, small, and medium-size eggs. The “soft sage” GoodEgg is sized for medium, large, XL and even some jumbo types. It’s also great for duck and turkey eggs!

Who knows… if enough of you Emu and Ostrich folks make enough noise, we might just make a GoodEgg for your MASSIVE omelets too! 😃

Commercially-available eggs are sold in a variety of conditions, worldwide. In the U.S., eggs must be sanitized by Federal regulation. The industrial cleansers can be enzyme-based (similar to our GoodEgg Wash) or made from chlorine, etc. By cleaning them before shipping, the bloom is removed and all retail eggs must be refrigerated. In other countries around the world, eggs are not washed and are stored at room temperature.

However “clean” the eggs may be at the store, they’re really only as clean as the last hands that touched them 🤢💩🤧

All that “NOT SRIRACHA” consists of more types of bacteria (or microflora) than you would care to admit exits on the outside of the egg, even if it looks clean. That bacteria should definitely be removed before eating, cooking, juggling, touching any surface (like your face) or whatever you want to do with your eggs.

It’s time to stop cleaning precious eggs with scrubbers, washcloths, sponges, dish brushes, or anything else that was never designed to effectively remove disease and debris (or might introduce even different germs into your omelette).

Get GoodEgg. You’ll love it. 💚

That’s it! Pretty awesome right? By supporting our efforts early, you’ll be helping us bring this amazing product to market and helping our family & friends achieve our mission to eat local, live more sustainably, and prioritize health.

Together we can change the world… one Good (clean) Egg at a time! 🌎🥚🌏

Q: Is GoodEgg Wash actually better than water?  You bet it is. The mixture of minerals and all natural enzymes have been purposefully chosen to break down proteins, increasing degradation of feces (you know, bird poop) and other biological material. Just like it’s important to you to know where your food comes from, it’s important to know your food is clean as well.

Q: What is an enzyme?  An enzyme is a natural protein and they are found in ALL living things. There are many types of enzymes in nature and each serves a unique and vital purpose. Without enzymes there would be no life, no digesting food, no ripening fruit. Picture an enzyme like a fork and knife. Enzymes latch onto large molecules and break them into smaller molecules. For example, an enzyme can latch onto an Ammonia Molecule (NH4), which is harmful to human and animal health, and break it into the smaller molecules of Nitrogen (N) and water (H2O). Nature uses enzymes to keep environments balanced. Inorganic chemical compounds are made to mimic natural enzymes.

Q: I buy eggs from the store, aren’t they clean?  As clean as the last hands that touched them. 🤧🤮💩🤒😮‍💨

Q: Do I really need to wash my backyard eggs, they seem so clean? Everything is ultimately up to you, but like we tell our kiddos… you’re free to make choices but consequences are automatic. We think it’s a good thing to clean eggs before your family eats them. We believe it’s even better to use all natural enzymes to kill and remove any nasties that might be making babies on your egg’s shell.

Q: Does GoodEgg work with big eggs, or super small eggs? GoodEgg comes in two sizes to accommodate nearly every chicken or duck egg. It’s made from a material that’s specifically engineered to flex so it can even work with super small chicken eggs too.

Q: Will GoodEgg work on caked-on dirt? GoodEgg has 762 silicone nubs designed to remove dirt, poop, and feathers. It also has a scrubbing edge for those stubborn caked-on messes.

Q: Is GoodEgg food safe? GoodEgg is engineered with silicone that’s designed to come in contact with food safely.

Q: How can I clean GoodEgg? GoodEgg is dishwasher safe! Simply pop GoodEgg inside-out, toss it into your dishwasher’s utensil tray, and run it through a normal cycle. If you don’t have a dishwasher, popping GoodEgg inside-out and soaking or rinsing with soapy water will clean and sanitize it.

Q: How soon will GoodEgg ship to backers? Because we’ve already started our mold process to begin manufacturing, we’re already in process. Awards will ship to backers within a month or so of successful campaign completion.

Q: What is GoodEgg made from? Good Egg is engineered silicone that’s designed to be completely safe for food handling. The material strikes the perfect balance between flexibility (to work effectively with all the different sizes of eggs) and durability (to clean even caked-on messes).

Q: What size GoodEgg should I pick? Great question! If you look at the chicken chart above, we’d recommend the SM-MED GoodEgg for eggs 50g or less and MED-LG GoodEgg for eggs 50g or more.

Q: Is the Enzyme Cleanser food safe? You bet it is, it’s been made specifically to clean eggs and not penetrate the shell! It’s also 99% organic and bacteria-free.

Q: Is the Enzyme Cleanser refillable? We’re glad you asked! Our foaming bottle is refillable, and we’ll be offering a subscription where you can have your refills sent to your house automatically.

Q: Is the Enzyme Cleanser safe for my hands? Absolutely, and we’ve had a lot of users report their hands feel softer after washing their eggs because the Enzymes break down dead skin cells as biomaterial. How’s that for a nice side effect? We would recommend rinsing your hands when you’re done.

Q: What kind of warranty do you provide? We’re so confident that you’ll love the GoodEgg that we’re offing a 1-Year Replacement of Refund Warranty to make sure you’re happy.

Q: What is your refund and exchange policy? Not satisfied within the warranty period? We’ll refund you! Order the wrong size of GoodEgg? We’ll exchange it. It’s that simple.

Q: When will I get my stuff? Lucky you, we already have molds being made right now, and plan on shipping to everyone this summer!

Q: Do you ship international? What carrier do you use? Yes! But only the brushes during the Kickstarter phase. We’ll be shipping the GoodEgg Wash internationally after we launch.

Q: Can I buy extra GoodEgg Wash? Of course! We’ll have refills available for order after all of our crowdfunding people have had their orders shipped!
