Bob. The new way to wash

Hello, and thanks so much for taking the time to visit Bob’s Kickstarter page. Whether you have been following our journey from the start, or you are just hearing about us for the very first time today, we really appreciate you. 

Bob is the new way to wash. A refillable body wash product for men, including hard body wash bar refills (we call them Bob bars), which have been engineered to match a man’s skin pH level of 5.5. Behind the shower curtain we are three ordinary men called Mike, Will and Max, and over the last eight months we have worked tirelessly to create a product that we want to use daily in our showers. 

We are so excited to be able to finally launch Bob on Kickstarter, and we can’t wait to welcome you as one of Bob’s very first backers and customers.

Welcome to Bob, the new way to wash. A refillable body wash product, which includes what we believe to be the world’s first hard refillable body wash bars (Bob bars).

Our uniquely developed product is a first of its kind and patent pending.

Standalone, the Bob bars are very good body wash bars, but together with Bob, they are the world’s first refillable body wash, which combines washing with moisturising, and scrubbing with travel.

Where to wash with Bob

The first design priority for Bob was to create a product that men love and want to use in their shower daily. The second design priority for Bob was to create a product that could travel with a man to any shower they go to, whether that be the gym shower, the work shower, the hotel shower, sports club shower, and even the holiday shower.

Home

Bob has been designed and developed to work daily in your home shower, replacing the need for plastic body wash bottles, and enhancing the experience of using a soap bar.

Work

How many times have you got to your work shower only to find that the soap has not been refilled, and so you have to wash with just water and remain sweaty for the rest of the day. Bob has been designed to fit discreetly in your work bag meaning you can start your day at work knowing you can shower with Bob.

Active

The hardest environment of them all, the football, rugby, swimming and gym changing rooms. A place where every man showers after vigorous exercise. Bob has been developed to be chucked in your kit bag, ready for a post training shower. Bob’s unique body wash formulation and medical grade bristles, makes it the perfect combination to both clean and scrub after a hard, sweaty, and even muddy session.

Travel

Bob has been designed to travel everywhere you go. Whether in your wash bag, your rucksack, or your luggage you won’t ever have to worry about liquid mess or airport security again. Bob has been tested in hot water and cold water, as well as different climates and outdoor conditions, to ensure that Bob works both in, and traveling to, every type of shower.

Outside

Bob is designed beautifully to fit in a backpack, waterproof and watertight. Ready to take on any adventure, and with Bobs biodegradable ingredients you can feel safe, whilst nature is safe.

No matter the environment, Bob has been developed to shower with you.

Building Bob

Over the last 8 months we have been working tirelessly behind the shower curtain, and thinking outside of the bottle, in order to revolutionise the men’s body wash industry.

From the very start we were clear that we wanted to create a sustainable and refillable product, with a unique refillable body wash formulation, for men.

In order to design and develop Bob we partnered with the leading and award winning Design Agency, Beta Design Office, based in London (United Kingdom)

Following this we began to draw and explored different design concepts, materials, and product forms.

After we agreed on our key features, must haves, do’s and don’ts, we moved to 3D printing and prototyping.

Once we had the first prototypes in hand we began to test in the shower. We had many, many failed tests, until one day our prototype delivered what we hoped it would, which was an incredible shower experience.

Now that we have created our Bob prototype it was time to create the world’s first refillable body wash bars. After speaking and meeting with over 40 different body wash and soap suppliers around the world, we partnered with one of the oldest and largest German soap manufacturers who committed to researching and developing our first Bob Bar. This was one of the hardest and most time consuming processes as we spent months flying to and from Germany, to ensure our formulation matched our wants and claims: pH 5.5 to match a man’s skin pH, good for sensitive skin, and good for the planet (biodegradable, toxin free, sulphate free and paraben free).

With our prototype working and our first Bob Bar formulation confirmed, it was now time to source our manufacturer. In partnership with our design agency, Beta, we met with many different manufacturers. However with our want to be a sustainable and global business, we knew we had to find a global manufacturer who aligned with our values, and able to deliver a sustainable and quality product. Excitingly we have partnered with Genimex, a global manufacturing agency, who are now in the process of Designing for manufacture, and tooling, ready to manufacture Bob.

We are now launching on Kickstarter to enable us to begin manufacturing Bob so that we can launch our product to the world. 

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign we aim to ship our first Bob orders in October 2024.
