Hey, everyone!

Guess what? We’re back and better than ever!

Since the debut of The Baroque Tarot, your #1 request has not gone unheard: “Please, give us a version with that premium, luxurious cardstock!” Yes, we’re talking about the sought-after 330 GSM German blackcore cardstock. The sheer number of emails flooding our inbox each month made this impossible to ignore.

And so, we listened. [Cue drum roll] 🥁🥁🥁 Introducing… The Baroque Tarot – Deluxe Edition. It’s the deck you’ve adored these past few months, now elevated to match your highest standards.

Here’s what makes the Deluxe Edition a must-have:

  1. Superior Cardstock: We’re leveling up to a 330 GSM German blackcore paper with a linen finish, promising unmatched quality and durability. This is not a stretch goal this time; this is our basic offering.
  2. A New Spin on the Wheel of Fortune: We’ve reimagined this card, transforming it from the least favored to potentially your new favorite.
  3. Luxurious Packaging: Expect more gold, more elegance, and more wow with an enhanced box design that screams premium.
The new design is more in line with the baroque theme of the deck while preserving the symbolism of the original card.

Looking to treat yourself to a premium tarot experience? Or searching for the perfect Christmas gift for a fellow tarot enthusiast? You’re in the right place! With decks set to ship around Sep-October 2024, The Baroque Tarot – Deluxe Edition will arrive just in time to make your holiday season truly magical.

Special Thanks to Our Returning Backers: If you’ve supported any of our previous projects, we have something special for you. As a token of our gratitude, you’ll have the opportunity to snag the Deluxe Edition at a significantly reduced price AND you’ll get a free tarot bag with your deck. It’s our way of saying thank you for being such an integral part of our journey. We’ll verify that you’ve backed one of our previous projects by checking the reports in our previous campaigns.

PS: While the First Edition remains available on our website, the Deluxe Edition is a Kickstarter exclusive. Given the pricier manufacturing required, it’s unlikely to hit our own online store post-campaign (except for any remaining stock from this print run).

PS: For those who got The Baroque Tarot First Edition as an addon with their copy of The Naked Truth Tarot, you can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition (if you don’t mind waiting a bit longer). Check the FAQ section for more details.

Believe it or not, but when we started, we were actually a couple of medical residents from Tunisia, so we’re not your typical tarot deck creators.

Our artistic journey was kindled by a profound appreciation for the Botticelli Tarot, which was the first tarot deck with which we actually felt a profound connection. It left an indelible mark on our hearts. The allure of blending artistry with divination led us to embark on a mission to create a tarot deck that could capture the essence of classic Baroque artistry.

Drawing inspiration from renowned artists like Caravaggio, Nicolas Poussin, Peter Paul Rubens, Artemisia Gentileschi, Diego Velázquez, Rembrandt van Rijn, and more, we set out to craft a masterpiece that pays homage to their timeless contributions to the world of art.

After the success of The Baroque Tarot First Edition, we added some people to our team and launched The Naked Truth Tarot. Here we are now with The Baroque Tarot Deluxe Edition, and, hopefully, we’ll be back with more projects in the future.

Our journey aims at accomplishing two significant aspirations:

  • Giving life to a lifelong dream by creating a unique addition to the rich tapestry of tarot decks.
  • Starting to secure the means to finance our medical studies in Germany. As two individuals on a mission in the world of medicine, this project is our bridge to the future, and your support is its cornerstone..

Our design process for each card starts with a pen and paper then moves to the digital canvas, where the true magic unfolds. Leveraging an array of tools, including ProcreateIllustratorPhotoshop, and AI tools, we breathe life into each card, transforming them into exquisite works of art that marry the elegance of the Baroque with the profound symbolism of tarot.

Simply put, every card is a story, every stroke a labor of love.

Traditional tarot symbolism is preserved in this deck.

Disclaimer: The drafts for seven of the artworks were initially created using AI rather than pen and paper, which are the artworks for the following cards: The Chariot, Three of Cups, Three of Coins, Four of Coins, Seven of Swords, Queen of Swords, and Ten of Wands. They were heavily edited before making it to the final deck, of course. Check the FAQ section for more details.
