Meet UNA – The World’s First Modular GPS Sports Watch

With Its Fully Repairable & Upgradable Components, UNA Is The Next Generation Of GPS Sports Watches.

Your New Training Companion

Built with sustainability and performance in mind, UNA offers real-time GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring and post-activity insights with a minimalist UI that adapts to your needs.

What Does The Watch Do?

UNA Watch tracks your runs, rides, and hikes with ease thanks to its advanced sensors, modular design, and long-lasting battery life, ensuring you’re covered no matter how you train.

GPS Watches Aren’t Built To Last

Most GPS sports watches end up in landfill after only a few years due to their non-replaceable batteries, fragile screens and outdated hardware.

With UNA, you no longer need to face that problem. Upgrade what’s outdated and replace what’s damaged, all with one simple tool.

Meet The Watch That Evolves With You

Thanks to its innovative design, UNA is both repairable and upgradable. Swap out your battery, replace a cracked screen and enjoy new features without the need to spend lots of money on a new watch every couple of years.

When new types of health sensors become available in years to come, simply order a new module, fit it yourself and unlock a range of new features.

Say Hello To USB-C Charging

UNA uses a standard USB-C cable, meaning less time searching when you occasionally need to charge your watch. Does this USB-C connector affect the waterproof rating?  No, it doesn’t as the USB-C connector on the watch is IPX8 rated, meaning the internals of the watch are completely sealed from the outside of the connector.

How Does UNA Compare

The Benefits

Traditional smartwatches fail after a few years. UNA is designed with modular components, meaning you can swap out parts at any time instead of replacing the entire watch.Equipped with dual-frequency GPS, an altimeter and an accelerometer. UNA provides accurate data for runners, cyclists, and hikers. With up to 10 days of battery life in everyday mode and 20 hours in GPS mode, UNA ensures you never run out of power mid-session.Track heart rate, SpO2, step count and more — all powered by cutting-edge sensors that can be upgraded over time.Unlike other wearables that rely on proprietary charging cables, UNA Watch uses USB-C — the same cable as your phone.

UNA Mobile Application

UNA’s modular experience goes beyond the watch. Our custom mobile app, available for both iOS and Android, gives you complete control over your training data, insights, and watch customisation as well as giving you the option to integrate UNA with other platforms such as Strava.

  • Track Your Progress – Synchronise your runs, rides and hikes with in-depth performance analytics post-activity.
  • Customize Your Watch – Adjust settings, update the firmware, and personalise your data screens with ease.
  • Upgrade Over Time – As we release new sensors and features, your app will keep your watch up to date.

With its simple and intuitive interface, the UNA App ensures that your watch only gets better over time.

Choices

We are launching with 3 stunning colour combinations:

Black

Teal

Developer Friendly

At UNA, we believe in giving the right to customise back to our users. That’s why we’re releasing a Software Development Kit (SDK) and a Hardware Development Kit (HDK)— so developers, creators and innovators can take their watch to the next level.

  • Code Your Own Apps – Build and install third-party apps tailored to your needs, from custom workout trackers to unique watch faces.
  • Expand with New Hardware – Developers can create new sensors and hardware modules to enhance UNA’s capabilities.
  • Open-Source Innovation – We’re fostering a developer-friendly ecosystem where the community can collaborate and share ideas.

UNA isn’t just a watch — it’s a platform for innovation.

Add/Ons

Custom Silicone Straps

Every watch comes with a strap which matches the colour of the watch housing. For example, if you order the Teal variant, you receive a teal strap. We are also offering you the ability to purchase an additional set of straps in any of our three colours.

UNA ‘Dev’ Tool

For developers who want to write their own apps and custom firmware for UNA, we are offering a ‘Dev’ tool which plugs into UNA’s USB-C port.  Fitting a jumper on the debug header inside the watch gives developers access to the microcontroller’s debug port, which is routed out to a header on the ‘Dev’ tool, to allow real-time programming and debugging of the watch.

Our Story

UNA was born out of frustration with the status quo. A few years ago, the founder, Lewis, purchased his wife a brand-new smartwatch. Two days later, she accidentally dropped it, severely damaging the display.

They were left with two options: pay an eye-watering repair cost or throw away the watch altogether and buy a new one.

So, the idea of UNA was born with one mission. How can technology be more sustainable?

After months of research & development, the first working prototype was born. The world’s first fully modular watch that had both GPS and heart rate monitoring was no longer just a dream, but a reality.

Within a year of trading, UNA grew to a core team of four, supported by external partners working on both the mobile application and watch firmware. In the summer of 2024, we won a coveted Scottish EDGE award and received a grant from Scottish Enterprise, enabling us to continue our development. We then went on to secure a £300,000 pre-seed investment from the renowned venture capital firm SFC Capital.

As of March 2025, UNA is now a team of 8 working from our HQ in Edinburgh. Our goal is to empower users to take back the right to repair the tech they own and build products that are both people and planet friendly.
