Launched in 2019, Kiwi Ears has achieved global recognition for our innovative and high-performance in-ear monitors (IEM’s). We combine advanced acoustic engineering with a ‘music-first’ tuning approach. Our mission is simple: create high-performance IEM’s that elevate your listening experience without the cost or complexity. Expertly tuned, passionately crafted, and ready for your next performance.

Since its inception, Kiwi Ears has become a staple name within the global audio community. With over 40 successful product releases, the company has maintained a consistent track record of reliability and performance. The Halcyon is the culmination of this experience, designed to serve as a reference tool for those seeking an accurate and fully immersive sound.

There’s a reason for the hype around Kiwi Ears. Our products consistently maintain an average 4.4 out of 5 star rating across major retail platforms. From the Orchestra Lite to the Cadenza, our designs have been featured as Best in Class by leading industry publications.

With over 50,000 units sold worldwide, Kiwi Ears is trusted by professionals and enthusiasts worldwide.

The Kiwi Ears Halcyon represents a significant step forward in acoustic engineering. It is one of the first in-ear monitors to implement a tribrid configuration utilizing the Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) driver. The Halcyon combines the powerful sub-bass kick of a 10mm DD subwoofer, the articulate and natural midrange of 3BA’s, and the surreal ultra-treble transients of the MEMS. Focusing on technical precision and high-resolution playback, the Halcyon is designed for audio professionals, dedicated audiophiles, and competitive gamers.

Unlike traditional drivers, the MEMS tweeter operates at ultrasonic speeds with near-zero phase distortion. This provides a level of “air” and micro-detail retrieval that exceeds even the most expensive electrostatic (EST) drivers. The result is a crystalline treble and expansive ultra-treble responses that remain perfectly coherent regardless of the volume level.

To provide a cohesive full-spectrum audio emersion, the Halcyon employs five specialized drivers using three distinct driver technologies. This tribrid setup is designed to capitalize on the strengths of each driver type while minimizing their inherent limitations.

Our tribrid configuration integrates MEMS for precision ultra-highs, dynamic drivers for powerful bass, and balanced armatures for detailed mids and trebles. This sophisticated combination delivers exceptional coverage of the entire sound spectrum, allowing each driver type to emphasize the frequency range they were designed for. This reduces strain on each driver, minimizing distortion, while enhancing the audio resolution.

Dynamic drivers remain the industry standard for low-end reproduction due to their ability to move a larger volume of air, providing depth and a tactile kick. The composite material used in the Halcyon was chosen for its rigidity and dampening properties, ensuring that the sub-bass boost is both impactful and well-controlled.

The midrange holds the fundamental frequencies of vocals and instruments, requiring a driver that is both fast and tonally neutral. These BA drivers are tuned specifically to provide a natural representation of the human voice and acoustic instruments. The custom in-house DEK drivers are engineered to provide authentic timbre, while its fast transients deliver pinpoint imaging and layering. Tuned with a warm-neutral midrange, the Halcyon functions effortlessly as a studio monitor, while also being perfectly enjoyable for all music genres.

The trebles are powered by two independent driver systems, designed to reduce driver distortion and maximize efficiencies in their respective frequencies. An in-house custom WBFK driver was engineered to provide the initial clarity and “bite” in the upper-mids and lower treble, while the MEMS driver takes over for the highest frequencies. This dual-driver approach ensures that the transition from the mids to the treble is seamless, while also allowing a maximum frequency range of up to 42kHz.

We spent months refining the internal acoustic cavity. By CNC-milling the chambers from solid aluminum, we were able to control airflow and eliminate the standing waves that often mud up the midrange. This physical crossover works in tandem with our passive electronic circuits to ensure each driver operates in its ideal frequency range with calculated acoustic phase and resonance.

The Halcyon features a distinct 8dB sub-bass shelf powered by our 10mm DD subwoofer. With impactful, yet quick, bass punches, the lowest octaves are present a true subwoofer-like experience, without interfering the mids. A precise low-mid crossover at 200Hz ensures that the bass remains separate from the midrange, eliminating the common issue of “mid-bass bloat.” This allows the lower mids to remain clean and transparent.

Each unit features CNC-machined aluminum housing, hand-polished finishes, and rigorous quality control testing. The ergonomic shape provides a comfortable listening experience even after extended usage. The overall design combines durability, structural integrity, comfort, and premium aesthetics.

The Litz-type braided design reduces interference, delivering a noise-free listening experience. Built with durable 400D bulletproof fiber and flexible 32AWG 4N OCC copper, the cable offers long-lasting performance and comfort for audiophiles.

Designed to maximize signal integrity, the custom cable is made from 32AWG 4N single-crystal copper, ensuring a pure, lossless transmission of audio. Ideal for high-end audio setups, this cable brings out the best in your music with precision and transparency.

Equipped with easily swappable connectors, the Kiwi Ears Halcyon cable lets you choose between a 3.5mm single-ended and a 4.4mm balanced plug, offering maximum flexibility to suit any audio system.

Whether you’re on the go with a portable device or enjoying a premium listening experience with high-end desktop gear, this cable adapts to your needs. Its user-friendly design ensures hassle-free switching, allowing you to always enjoy optimal performance and convenience in any audio environment. Perfect for audiophiles seeking a dynamic and adaptable cable solution.

Perfect Pair: S-Link Cable

This specialized accessory is designed for professionals and gamers who need high-quality audio and reliable microphone input through a single connection. Audiophiles can fully customize their IEM sound through the DSP equalizer.

The S-Link system features two separate microphones to accommodate different environments. The inline microphone is integrated into the cable controls for standard phone calls or casual use. For professional gaming or voice-over work, a detachable boom microphone can be attached, providing superior voice isolation and clarity.

We recommend pairing the Halcyon with the Kiwi Ears S-Link to ensure the best performance on your mobile, tablet, and PC. The S-Link’s integrated DAC/AMP features digital signal processing (DSP) specifically mapped to the Halcyon’s drivers. It corrects for the unique impedance curves of the MEMS technology and ensures a studio-master experience on the go. Users can also benefit by customizing their sound signature through the DSP’s EQ (equalizer).

Kiwi Ears' Story

At Kiwi Ears, we believe great audio should be accessible to all.

High-quality audio should not be limited to only experts with technical knowledge. Kiwi Ears is simplifying high-fidelity audio for everyone to enjoy. We are committed to creating audio products that sound natural, balanced, and musical, which can be appreciated without requiring users to scrutinize every minuscule specification.

Over the years, we have mastered the art and science of IEM drivers. We have experimented with different materials, from Beryllium-plated drivers in the Cadenza, custom balanced armature, dynamic, and bone conduction drivers, to now the MEMs. Each release was a stepping stone toward the ultimate goal: a perfect, lifelike reproduction of sound.

The Kiwi Ears R&D team is composed of international engineers, with its own dedicated manufacturing faciilty in Shenzhen. The goal of the team is to develop products that sound ‘right’ right from the very first listen. It shouldn’t be too analytical, too fatiguing, or too colored. It should be your music, the way it’s meant to be enjoyed. The first Orchestra — an 8-BA IEM — earned global praise and established the house sound: natural, balanced, and genuinely musical.

The Cadenza, which was launched in 2022, changed everything. At $35, this single DD IEM was hailed as a “giant killer.” SoundGuys called its tuning “non-fatiguing.” Head-Fi users declared it their daily driver over far more expensive sets.

But the brand refused to rest on budget credentials. The Quintet introduced the quadbrid technology. The Aether pushed boundaries with a 15.3mm planar driver — the largest ever in an IEM. The Kiwi Ears x Crinacle Singolo debuted the KARS: a 3D-printed Helmholtz resonance labyrinth creating a dedicated sub-bass previously thought impossible in a single driver IEM.

Awards followed: multiple VGP Golds from Japan, a Project Award for the Ellipse, Amazon #1 Best Seller for the Allegro Mini. The KE4 was declared “one of the easiest IEM recommendations” by Headphones.com.

By 2025, the ecosystem grew into wired and Bluetooth headphones, and DAC/AMPs — all carrying the “music-first” DNA. At the same time, we continued to expand the technical limits of IEMs.

The Halcyon is more than just our latest product. It is our technical anchor. By mastering the integration of solid-state MEMS, we are moving away from the mechanical limitations of traditional drivers. The future of Kiwi Ears is Solid-State, and the Halcyon is the first step into that new world.
