±0 Electric Spice Mill
From your kitchen to the campfire — effortless seasoning, anywhere.

The final touch before every meal deserves better.
You’ve spent twenty minutes on a dish. You’ve tasted it, adjusted it, brought it to exactly where you want it. Then comes the last step — a grind of pepper, a pinch of salt — and suddenly you need two hands, you’ve made a mess on the counter, and you’re not even sure how much is left in the grinder.
That’s not a dramatic problem. But it’s a real one. And it happens every single day.

Small friction, repeated daily, adds up.
Most kitchen tools were designed to function. Not to fit into the actual flow of cooking. The result is a category of objects we’ve accepted as “good enough” — when they could be quietly, meaningfully better.
Messy counters. Every twist leaves a trail of spice residue on your surface.
Two hands required. You’re stirring, watching, tasting — and now you have to put everything down just to grind.
No visibility. Is there enough left? You shake it, hear something, and hope for the best.
Inconsistent output. Coarse one grind, fine the next — small variations that affect flavor without you noticing why.

Introducing the ±0 Electric Spice Mill.
One touch. Zero mess. Anywhere you cook.

The ±0 Electric Spice Mill is a one-touch electric salt and pepper grinder from Plus Minus Zero — the Japanese industrial design brand behind objects that have earned a place in MoMA’s permanent collection.
It does what a grinder should do, the way it always should have been done.
Press. Grind. Season. One hand. Every time.
One-Hand Precision

The button is on top. Your thumb finds it naturally. Press once and the ceramic burr does the work — no twisting, no gripping, no interruption to what you were already doing.
Your other hand stays exactly where it should be: on the spoon, the pan, the plate.
The experience of cooking stays unbroken.
Zero-Mess Counter

Every grinder leaves something behind. The ±0 doesn’t — because it comes with a purpose-built anti-mess docking stand that catches everything before it reaches your surface.
Set it back in the stand after use. That’s it. Your counter looks exactly as it did before.
The kind of detail that makes you wonder why all grinders don’t work this way.
Always Know Your Level

The spice chamber is fully transparent. You can see your supply at a glance — from across the kitchen, without picking it up.
No more shaking and guessing. No more running out mid-recipe. Refill before you need to, not after you wish you had.
Consistent, Adjustable Grind

The ceramic burr delivers the same grind, every time. Dial it to fine or coarse — it stays there. No variation based on how hard you twist or how tired your hands are.
Consistent seasoning is a small thing. But it’s the kind of small thing that makes everything taste more intentional.
From Your Kitchen to the Outdoors.
Most kitchen tools stop at the front door. The ±0 was designed to cross it.
Built into the body of the mill is a hanging hook — a single design decision that changes how and where this object lives.
In the kitchen, hang it on a rail, a hook, or a mounted rack. It’s always within reach. It never needs a surface.

At a campsite, hang it from a tent pole, a branch, or a gear frame. Season at the grill, the fire, the camp table. No counter needed. No flat surface required.

Same product. Same experience. Different world.
This is what the hook actually does: it makes the ±0 the rare kitchen tool that genuinely belongs in both environments.

Where the ±0 lives well
Home kitchen — daily meals, dinner plating, everyday cooking Outdoor cooking — camping, BBQ, fire cooking, picnics Van life and travel — compact gear setups, minimal kitchens Modern interiors — a design object worth displaying, not hiding Gifting — housewarming, weddings, houseguests worth impressing
The Philosophy Behind It: “Just Right.”
±0 — Plus Minus Zero — is a Japanese design brand founded in 2003 on a single idea: that the objects we live with every day should be exactly what they need to be. Not more. Not less.
The name comes from the concept of equilibrium. Neither excessive nor deficient.
Every element of the Electric Spice Mill earns its place.
The hook is not decorative — it bridges two environments and transforms the product’s usefulness.
The transparent chamber is not cosmetic — it removes a small but persistent source of uncertainty from your daily routine.
The matte body is not just aesthetic — it ages well, attracts no fingerprints, and integrates quietly into any space.
Good design doesn’t announce itself. It simply makes things better.
Built to Last.

Ceramic Burr Grinding Element Ceramic doesn’t corrode. It doesn’t absorb flavors. It doesn’t contaminate your spices. It grinds consistently for years without degrading — and it’s naturally resistant to the moisture that ruins metal burrs over time.
Stainless Steel Body Built to last and built to look it. Stainless steel resists rust, holds up to daily use, and feels solid in the hand — the kind of material that stays looking new long after lesser grinders show their age.
PCTG Transparent Chamber High-clarity plastic chosen specifically for food contact — safe, durable, and genuinely clear. Not frosted, not hazy. You see exactly what’s inside.
AAA Battery Powered Available everywhere. At the grocery store, at the petrol station, at the campsite shop. You are never far from a replacement — indoors or out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size of ingredients can I grind? This grinder works best with ingredients between 2mm and 5mm in size. Anything outside this range may not grind properly.
What ingredients are not compatible? The following should not be used with this grinder:
- Pink peppercorns
- Sesame seeds
- Almonds and peanuts
- Any ingredients with high oil or moisture content
Can I use rock salt? Rock salt is not recommended in most cases. Due to its irregular size and inconsistent hardness, it may not grind properly and could damage the grinding mechanism.
Can I use this for camping? Yes. The integrated hook is designed specifically for hanging from tent poles, branches, gear racks, and kitchen rails. AA batteries mean no outlet required. The ±0 was built to travel.
Is it durable enough for outdoor use? The ABS matte body is impact-resistant and handles outdoor conditions well. The ceramic burr is naturally moisture-resistant. Treat it with the care you’d give any quality kitchen tool, and it will serve you for years.
How long do batteries last? Battery life depends on frequency of use. AA batteries are universally available — including at most campsites and petrol stations. We recommend carrying one spare set on longer trips.
What spices can it grind? The ±0 is designed for whole peppercorns and coarse salt — the two most common applications. The ceramic burr handles both with consistent results. We don’t recommend very hard whole spices or pre-ground powders.
How do I clean it? The transparent chamber detaches for cleaning. A quick brush-out between uses is usually sufficient. The ceramic burr doesn’t absorb flavors, so switching between salt and pepper is clean. Do not submerge the electric body in water.
Can I adjust the coarseness? Yes. The grind dial sets your coarseness level — from fine to coarse. Once set, the ceramic burr delivers that grind consistently every time you press the button.
What is included in each set?
The Single unit includes one mill, a silicone cap, and an instruction manual with warranty.
The Dual Set includes two mills, one docking stand, and an instruction manual with warranty.
Wherever you cook, make the final touch effortless.
