The Promise of Cutting

When the first ultrasonic cutters hit the market, we were genuinely excited. 
Here was a tool that promised to make every cut effortless, faster, and cleaner. 
3D prints fall apart cleanly. Leather yields with perfect edges. Foam and plastic
separate like magic.

With 40,000 high-frequency vibrations per second, the blade doesn’t slice with brute force – it vibrates at an invisible speed, turning even the most stubborn materials into butter.

The Reality

In practice, many users ran into the same problems:

  • The tool gets hot quickly, forcing you to stop every 5–10 minutes
  • Actual usable runtime is far shorter than expected
  • Excess heat transfers into the material, causing melting, deformation, or messy edges — especially on plastics and detailed prints

That’s the gap we set out to close with SonicMax Slice 10.

Why We Built Slice 10?

We rebuilt the ultrasonic cutting system from the inside out.

  • High-efficiency transducer (Q > 500) — up to 2.5× higher than typical industry designs. More energy goes into cutting, less is wasted as heat.
  • Real-time adaptive output control — instead of fixed power levels, Slice 10 reads material feedback and adjusts power and frequency for smoother, more stable cutting.
  • Redesigned power & thermal system — replaceable 5000mAh 21700 battery, built-in active cooling, and a system architecture built for longer creative sessions.
  • Practical smart features — Lift-to-Activate sensing, OLED status display, and built-in LED cut-line illumination.

Industry-Leading Efficiency (Q > 500)

Most wireless ultrasonic cutters lose a significant amount of energy as heat when the transducer is not efficient enough. This efficiency is measured by the Q value, also known as the quality factor.

Typical industry-standard designs are around Q ≈ 200. For Slice 10, we completely re-engineered the transducer and increased the Q value to over 500 — up to 2.5× higher than typical designs.

Real-Time Adaptive Output Control

When resistance changes, the system adjusts output power and vibration frequency to help keep the cut smooth and stable. You can see the power level change instantly on the OLED display.

The result: cleaner edges, less heat buildup, reduced melting on plastics, and more consistent cuts across foam, leather, EVA, plastic, and 3D-printed parts.

Lift-to-Activate Auto Sensing

Pick it up to start. Place it down to power off.
Slice 10 uses built-in motion sensing to detect when the tool is lifted from the desk and when it is placed back flat.

Slice 10 is designed around a high-capacity 5000mAh 21700 replaceable battery system, giving creators up to 4 hours cord-free cutting sessions on a single charge.

For users who prefer to stay plugged in when needed, Slice 10 also supports use-while-charging via USB-C.
