We are Beyond Nordic. An independent brand from Northern Europe (Sweden exactly) with our aim set to produce state of the art hiking gear at an affordable price. We are thrilled to be back on Kickstarter with our 4th campaign on this platform. In August 2019 we launched our very first product here on Kickstarter, the BN001 – Searchable hiking pants. The launch was a success and our project was funded in less than 24 hours. Our 2nd campaign BN002 was launched in June 2020 and raised a total of over 1500 backers and with more than 3000 pants produced. About a year ago we launched the campaign for our searchable shell sets. The campaign raised more than we have ever done before and landed on almost 3 million SEK in revenue. 

In line with our aggressive growth journey we are now proud to present a new era for the brand Beyond Nordic. Except from designing and producing high quality outdoor clothing we have now taken the step into gear. We hereby present the ultimate hiking backpack for exploring and expeditions!

Our story

We’re Beyond Nordic. An outdoor brand developed by hiking fanatics Patrik and Johannes, two swedish outdoor enthusiasts set on bringing Beyond Nordic to the world. We thought the industry of hiking gear was outdated and felt the market needed something more! Better fit, cleaner design, and updated features! We collected all our favorite specs and props from famous outdoor brands around the globe, added the features we’d been missing, adapted the design to fit in today’s demands and Voila, Beyond Nordic! We will make our absolute best to answer all your querys and we will also gladly take your feedback for future product development.

Searchable | Durable | Highly technichal

When we started out designing the BN501 and 502 about a year ago from now, our aim was to produce a searchable, durable, great value and highly functional backpack without compromising the quality even a bit. During the year of 2021 we developed a backpack that qualifies on all the above points. The design is made with functionality in mind, offering numerous anchoring points, pockets and other smart functions that will come in handy when you are on an adventure. We are extremely proud to present this new project of ours here first on Kickstarter. We hope you will enjoy our new family member as much as we do! 

With that said, let´s move on to the product presentation.

SEARCHABLE

For backers who have been following our journey over the years, you know that here at Beyond Nordic we are big fans of RECCO technology. So to equip our backpacks with the searchable technology that can be the difference between life or death, found or not found, was for us a no-brainer. The RECCO technology enables SAR teams around the globe to easily locate you in case you get lost or if any other emergency situation should occur. More than 900 SAR teams in 32 countries are currently equipped with search equipment for RECCO and more and more organisations are joining each month. DURABLE

Durability is always a key feature in our business. We produce gear that is build to last for years. By producing better quality garments and focusing more on durability our environmental impact becomes much less than the fast fashion industry. Because of this we have decided to work with a slightly thicker fabric than the average backpack. Material wise we have chosen to go for an extremely durable 900D Polyester composition, highly resistant to wear and tear, waterproof and easy to keep clean. The 900D polyester composition will for sure withstand even the toughest challenges, wear and tear and other elements that the gear will be exposed to when on adventures. For buckles, zippers, pullers and accessories we have also choosen to work with SBS which is a well known manufacturer of premium trims and accessories for the outdoor industry.

HIGHLY TECHNICHAL

Producing survival gear today puts high demands on functionality and technichal details. Therefore we have equipped the BN50X series with loads of features that will come in handy. The RECCO reflector is a key point, loads of anchoring points for strapping more gear on the outside of the backpack. Hydration pockets on the outside as well the inside with a hose outlet (for when hiking in minus degrees). Safety carabiner lanyard implemented in the top lid compartment for securing important assets such as keys. On the right hip pocket in your waist strap you have a wire in/outlet for charging your phone, keeping it close to you for fast access when the perfect photo opportunity occurs or reading the GPS to make sure you are on the right track! The rain cover can easily be accessed from the zip pocket on the bottom of the bag. This rain cover is made in a durable and totally waterproof nylon with a fluorescent orange colour and bright reflectors on top, mid and each side, a great safety aspect if you walk in the dark or in snowy landscapes. The backpack is top mounted with 2way waterproof zipper on the back to provide easy access to the lower compartment. 

THE 50X SIZES

The BN50X-series initially comes in 2 different sizes. A daypack in a 35L volume (BN501) and an expedition pack in 55L volume (BN502). Perfect for longer hikes or when you have a lot of gear to carry. The design and features are identical on both versions. Only difference is the size.

THE S-FRAME CARRY SYSTEM

The S-frame is made in a lightweight aluminum structure that provides a great ergonomic and comfortable fit when mounted on your back. The frame construction also provides air-flow channels for circulation. The carry straps and back padding system are covered by a highly breathable and durable 3D mesh fabric which allows airflow to circulate even on the pressure points. The frame construction combined with the 3D mesh allows fresh air to ventilate your back in the most comfortable way. A truly appreciated key feature when hiking in the summer or in high temp areas.
