We are Studio 51®, a small team of passionate cyclists with a background in design and fashion. We are makers of unique cycling-inspired charms, talismans, and fashion pendants to be worn on and off the bike. All our items are handcrafted in Rhode Island USA from recycled materials and will not only make you look good but also bring you good luck, powered by the legendary lucky number 51.

Why Number 51?

We chose number 51 for a good reason as our brand story. In numerology, number 51 symbolizes leadership, courage, and strength, and is a reminder that you are always in control of your own destiny.

In cycling, dossard number 51 has brought many Tour de France riders good luck, with Eddy Merckx the best-known, winning the Tour in his debut in 1969 with dossard 51. It was after his victory that 51 started a life of its own as a number that evoked a good luck charm and built a legendary reputation in the cycling world.

We bring our love and passion for cycling to the studio every day to get the watts going and the good luck flowing.

We craft all items in Rhode Island USA, which historically is for jewelry making what Italy is for fine garments and cycling apparel. It’s that long tradition and access to top-quality suppliers and artisans that make a big difference, from stamping, molding, and casting to plating, polishing, and finishing.

Our Collections

For the Studio 51® launch, we are presenting three different collections named after famous cycling terms and rider types. 

Peloton: Our entry collection of stamped coins is the definition of a good luck charm: simple, fun, mix & match, a great gift, and an easy-to-wear item for every cyclist, commuter, or kid on their way to school. Retail price: $39 per charm with necklace. 

Rouleur: Our elegant fashion collection of gold and silver plated pendants. Subtle designs with just a few letters or lines to express your love and passion for the sport and lifestyle. Two different designs in plated 14k gold and silver are available for the pre-launch, and more for the official launch in June. Retail price: starting at $79 with a matching ball chain.

Flahute: Our extravagant collection of brass, gold, and silver plated pendants, and a special Acetate® Italia line. Unique cycling-inspired objects of art and true talismans. For the passionate cycopath and trendy fashionista, guaranteed to turn heads. Four different designs are available for launch. Retail price: Starting at $119, with a matching chain of choice.

Our Packaging

We value clever packaging and creative presentation. Receiving and unboxing a Studio 51® package should be an experience, and leave as little waste as possible. We, therefore, don’t ship our items in big boxes or heavy cases.

Our Peloton charms items ship in cool zipper sleeves made from recycled plastic.

Our Rouleur and Flahute pendants ship in luxuriously soft round suede sleeves.

We love postcards and stickers and always throw in a few. See Add-Ons for our special Kickstarter sets.

No problem, if you don’t like to wear necklaces or prefer no jewelry on sweaty bike rides, our lucky charms are designed to be attached to literally everything. We always include a few zip-ties in shipments so you can take your lucky charm with you on the next ride attached to a bag, jacket, helmet, or bike itself. How cool is that?!

Giving Back 

We love the impact that bikes have on people and communities and will donate 5.1% of our profits to selected global cycling-related nonprofit organizations to help bring more good luck and happiness around the world on two wheels. 

Why Kickstarter?

All funds generated with this campaign will be used for the following investments:

• Production of collections for web boutique launch incl. all backers’ items.
• Additional stamp-making and cast molding to extend collections.
• Exploration of recycled plastic from Oceans and bike parts for capsule collections.
• Offering engraving and customization options. 
• Development of bracelet and earring collections (coming Fall 2023).

Tour Timeline

There are still a few climbs ahead of us, but this Col de Pledge is the most critical and challenging. We need all hands on the handlebars and have the Kickstarter Peloton Pledgers help pull us up to the top.

Delivery Schedule

All rewards and add-ons are estimated to start shipping by mid-June 2023. We will do our best to ship on time, however, obstacles can always arise in handmade manufacturing and we will communicate any unforeseen delays directly with our backers using the campaign updates feature.

International Backers, Taxes & Shipping

We hope to reach people around the world with our campaign who back us on this ride to bring Studio 51® to life. We ship all items from Rhode Island USA with flat, lightweight bubble mailers to keep shipping costs as low as possible. For simplicity,  we decided to set just two rates and subsidize some of the shipping charges:

• USA: $5 flat rate
• Europe, UK, Rest of World: $15 flat rate

Tip: if you are part of a cycling group or a bunch of friends, consider bundling rewards and add-ons and have them sent to one address to qualify for free shipping. Please contact us at kickstarter@studio51.cc to work something out. We’re not fans of shipping charges either.

Please also note that if you live outside the USA, all import duties or taxes are your responsibility and will be added to your order.
