The Dookan’s first campaign was a great success with backers all over the world. Now, we’re back with the second version of our tent, complete with upgraded size and functionality.

In late 2022, we launched our innovative two-story tent, The Dookan, on Kickstarter. Thanks to our backers, our campaign was a roaring success.

Now, in 2023, HANDYBRO is back with an upgraded and more spacious tent: Loft Penthouse.

With a redesigned parasol and newly added windows, tarp, and a special Docking Room, Loft Penthouse is a leg up on its predecessor.

In our first campaign, our backers let us know how they wanted to look at the stars from inside the tent. That’s why we decided we should let our backers swap between see-through and closed tent ceilings as they please. Customizing is at the core of everything Dookan – even when it comes to your tent roof!

To give you a better glimpse of all that beautiful scenery around you, the Loft Penthouse features a brand new window in the first floor and a detachable window on the second floor.

You can even remove the ceiling mesh from the second floor so you can stand up and get a breath of fresh outdoor air.

When you need a Loft Penthouse that’s as wide as it is tall, the Docking Room is the perfect addition.

What’s a Docking Room, you ask? Think of it as your personal outdoor living room. The Docking Room was made specially for this campaign to reinvent life outdoors for our backers.

In our last campaign, we offered a tarp as an add-on. Now, the tarp is upgraded and comes by default with your backing.

Keeping in line with our theme of customization, the tarp can be added anywhere you like.

With the redesigned tarp and brand new Docking Room, The Dookan Loft Penthouse is the perfect vertical – and horizontal – outdoor space.

Where will you bring your Loft Penthouse? And who will you take with you? The Loft Penthouse gives you full freedom to craft just the right space for your outdoor environment and group size.

When you need a light, quick nature retreat, the minimal setup is just perfect.

The tarp and parasol are great additions to the Natural configuration. To attach the parasol, all you have to do is fasten the belt. The tarp is an even easier zipper configuration.

In the Docking Room, you can have a tasty dinner or even an outdoor game night with all of your friends and family. Not only is it wide, the Docking Room also features a high ceiling, making it much better than a typical tent.

We found the maximal setup to be the best way to enjoy a big night out with family and friends.

The Docking Room is perfect for camping for days or weeks at a time.

When you combine everything all together, The Dookan Loft Penthouse becomes your very own living complex.

The total length of the hyper-max setup is 850 cm. That’s 27.8 feet! If even that isn’t enough for you, you can also combine your Loft Penthouse with other users for a transcendentally enormous camping experience.

With our latest version of The Dookan, we upgraded the pitching process so just about anyone can do it quickly and painlessly.

It’s so easy, even a camping beginner can finish pitching their Loft Penthouse in 15 minutes or less. And compared to other tents, the Loft Penthouse is less complicated and requires less tools to set up.

A conventional single story tent can take a lot of work to pitch, but the Loft Penthouse can easily be set up in just 10 minutes.

Plus, packing up the tent is a breeze. Just one person can finish the process in about 11 minutes.

And everything you need to pitch your Loft Penthouse can easily be stored in the trunk of a sedan.

Worried about how well the Loft Penthouse will hold up outdoors? Don’t worry!

We conducted a wind test to see how our tent holds up, and the Loft Penthouse was easily able to withstand 20 m/s (45 mph) winds.

We even tested hurricane level winds, and when secured with pegs, the Loft Penthouse was perfectly secure in 23.6 m/s (52.7 mph) winds.

The Loft Penthouse is strong against not just wind, but weight as well.

The frame can easily withstand a 660 lb. car frame’s weight. A family of four will be no problem whatsoever.

How Does it Work?

We specifically designed the Loft Penthouse’s frame to maximize both sturdiness and simplicity.

The frame’s top layer is made not from metal or wood, but from net material used to catch falling debris at construction sites. The texture is similar to a trampoline.
