When we started a decade ago, there was no easy way to make watches in the USA, let alone with reclaimed wood and steel. But today, we’re saying WATCH US  and bringing it home. Introducing the American Heritage Collection:

The American Heritage collection comes in 2 sizes & 2 authentic reclaimed materials, with 5 options to choose from.

All powered by an American Made High Torque 7320B Ameriquartz movement.

This wood is not only very rare and hard to get but packs deep American history. This is old-growth longleaf Pine that was used to build the Glenmore distillery back in 1849. It’s one of only 6 distilleries (yes only 6) during prohibition that were issued a government license to sell whiskey for medical purposes.

We partnered with Matthew Peech whose family has a long history of reclaiming decommissioned rackhouses in Kentucky. It’s an honor to be able to share such a beautiful piece of American history with you all.

For 3 years, we tried and failed to find partners capable of producing our watches at the level of quality we demand. After trial and error and dozens of watch samples, we found a way to bring you the product we dreamed of: Watches built here in America.

The American Heritage collection is sourced, handcrafted, & finished with partners across the country in 6 different states, with the goal of creating the most unique American watch on the market today.

Each watch requires over 40 hours of hands-on craftsmanship from all of our partners. We invest that much time to get every detail right, to create a watch that represents the best of our country, and the best of who you are. Because that’s our definition of Time Well Spent.

We’ve woven together the delicate processes of traditional woodworking with precision watchmaking. From band saws, routers, and CNC machines to cut the wood, to state-of-the-art watchmaking to make sure every component fits just right. Every timepiece from Original Grain is the first of its kind and the most unique watch you’ll ever own.

Two watches feature a custom flame-torched finish (that we literally torch by hand). It’s a delicate process but creates a pretty amazing look.

To make these watches just as versatile as you, a premium Horween leather strap, handcrafted in South Carolina, can be added to each reward tier.

Horween Leather is one of America’s most well-respected and longest-running tanneries. Not only is it some of the softest, most comfortable leather you’ll ever know, but it’s made to last.

Leather straps are only available as an add-on after you back our project.

When we started a decade ago, right here on Kickstarter, we just wanted to create something that was high quality and one of a kind.  It was just a dream and you made it possible! We will be forever thankful for the love and support of the Kickstarter community.
