BEAT I – PFAS
In a 2024 peer-reviewed study (Environmental Science & Technology Letters, University of Notre Dame)
68% of tested smartwatch bands showed elevated fluorine, the chemical marker of PFAS. Nine contained the forever chemical PFHxA at up to 16,662 parts per billion. The source: fluoroelastomer, the synthetic rubber behind many premium sport bands. The expensive bands carried more fluorine than the cheap ones. The researchers’ advice was direct: avoid fluoroelastomer, wear woven nylon.

BEAT II – SMELL
The band you already own has a second problem you can smell. That odor after a workout is bacteria, growing in trapped sweat, fed daily, removed never. We rebuilt the strap at the fiber level to answer both.



Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms in a hexagonal lattice, around 200 times stronger than steel by weight. We blend graphene oxide into the nylon at 1% by weight and melt-spin it into the fiber itself. The strap is 100% this yarn. One colorway, Graphene Grey, because the color is the carbon.
All hardware in Grade 2 titanium: corrosion-proof, hypoallergenic, roughly 40% lighter than steel.

Third-party testing of Kyorene graphene fiber (Tentamus, FZ/T 73023-2006 Appendix D8) measured 99% inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, and Candida albicans on fiber already washed 50 times, above every AAA durability threshold in the standard


Built to breathe, wash, and dry. Woven nylon carries no pooled sweat layer the way solid rubber does: air moves through it, water leaves it, a sink rinse resets it.

Silver and copper treatments work by releasing ions from the surface. They are consumable by design: every wash spends a little more of the finish, and what leaves the band leaves into the water. Sprayed and dipped “graphene” products share the same weakness, a layer sitting on the outside, wearing away from day one. LATTICE is built the other way around. The graphene oxide goes into the polymer before the fiber exists: 1% by weight, blended via masterbatch, melt-spun, sealed inside the yarn. There is no finish to spend, nothing that has to leach to work, and the proof is the test order.
Measured on purpose after 50 washes. That is the difference between a treatment and a material. The 99% result was recorded after 50 washes, proving the performance is built into the yarn rather than applied as a consumable surface treatment.

In 1973 the British Ministry of Defence issued a specification for a soldier’s watch strap, ordered on requisition form G10: twenty millimeters, nylon, and one clever trick. The strap passes under the watch, so if a spring bar fails, the watch stays on your wrist.
The design later took its nickname from its NATO Stock Number and became the most trusted configuration in watchmaking. Fifty years on, the silhouette is perfect and the material is not. Commodity NATOs use whatever nylon is cheapest and whatever buckle is nearest. LATTICE keeps the geometry the MoD got right and rebuilds both: graphene in the yarn, Grade 2 titanium on the hardware.
