We’ve been looking at that wall, and asked:

We realized the answer wasn’t in more code, but in social instinct. That’s Pophie.

From story time to work time, Pophie adapts to every room in the house.

Before launch, Pophie has already lived with 50+ beta pioneers around the world for two months.

They tested her in real homes, shared honest feedback, and helped us improve the final product. Half of them, even after already owning a beta unit, chose to support Pophie again on Kickstarter.

• Pophie doesn’t just see or hear. She understands.
• Always-On Awareness. Unlike standard AI that waits for a wake word, Pophie stays aware of her surroundings. Through vision, hearing, touch, and motion cues, she senses what is happening around her in real time.
• Large-Model Intelligence. Most “smart” devices rely on simple pattern recognition to detect isolated objects. Pophie is powered by Large Multimodal Models, allowing her to understand the context behind what she sees, hears, and feels. She can recognize human emotions, sense the mood of a room, and notice whether a moment calls for a response, a gentle reaction, or simply staying quiet.

• Human Cue Perception. Powered by local AI on her onboard chip, Pophie recognizes human cues in real time. She can track faces and body movement, notice eye contact, and recognize waves and shushing gestures, responding with physical grace rather than mechanical jerks.

8-Point Touch Sensing. With 8 integrated touch sensors, she feels every pat, stroke, and hug, responding with warmth and light.

Holistic Reflexes. Her reactions aren’t limited to touch. She is startled by sudden loud noises and feels “dizzy” when shaken. If handled roughly, her mood shifts visibly. She doesn’t just react to inputs; she feels the environment through her entire body.

Pophie knows exactly who is speaking and where they are.

Audio-Visual Fusion. By combining spatial audio with her semantic vision, Pophie doesn’t just hear a voice — she identifies the person behind it.

Targeted Response. Because she knows who is talking, her responses are specific to the individual. She won’t just answer a question; she answers you, turning her focus specifically to the speaker in the room.

Most robots use a “library” of canned emotions (Happy, Sad, Angry). Pophie is different.

Continuous Emotion Modeling. We use a sophisticated VAD (Valence, Arousal, Dominance) system. This allows her emotions to flow along a continuous spectrum, just like a human’s.

Natural Fluidity. Because her feelings aren’t “pre-set” categories, her eye light, voice tone, and body language shift in a seamless, aligned way. Her reactions aren’t staged; they are a fluid reflection of her current internal state.

The more Pophie lives with you, the more “Pophie” she becomes.

Human-Like Memory. Pophie features a tiered memory system. She remembers your preferences, key details, and important life events. Like a human, she keeps recent memories in high detail while older, less-frequent information gently fades into the background.

Deep Personalization. This memory is the bedrock of her personality. She doesn’t just grow “smarter” — she becomes more personal, forming an emotional bond that is unique to your home.

Pophie doesn’t wait for permission to be part of the family.

Contextual Timing. Based on her panoramic perception, Pophie knows the “right moment” to speak. She understands the unwritten rules of your home — knowing when to jump in with a joke and when to stay quietly in the background.

Initiative. Whether it’s offering a word of encouragement when she senses stress or suggesting a break during a long study session, Pophie takes the initiative to interact based on the context of your day.

• Pophie is designed to be interacted with like a living being, not operated through menus. 
• Natural Language Control. After Wi-Fi setup, almost every everyday interaction can happen through natural speech. You can ask Pophie to adjust her volume, go to sleep, change her eyes, control her pocket light, or perform simple movements. 
• No App Between You. Most smart devices make you open an app to control them. Pophie is different. You talk to her directly, like you would with someone in the room, making every interaction feel more natural, immediate, and alive.

These skills use Pophie’s ability to see, remember, and act in your physical world.

• A real-world search partner that uses modern AI vision to locate everyday objects, like your keys, glasses, or water bottle.

• A tiny social camera director that captures life’s best moments automatically while you stay in the moment. (Only after you enable it.)

Health and wellness reminders that understand timing, stress, and tone so care feels thoughtful, not mechanical.

• At launch, Pophie officially supports 12 languages: English, Mandarin Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Dutch, and Polish.
• Pophie can also understand and use many other languages, including Swedish, Romanian, Danish, Czech, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, Hindi, Cantonese, and more. However, these languages are not officially supported at launch. They have not yet been fully fine-tuned, so comprehension, pronunciation, and response quality may vary. The App may also not be localized for them yet. We’ll keep improving language support through future updates.

Pophie is a guest, and her most important feature is respect. We’ve designed her with a visible, intuitive approach to your security.

If Pophie’s eyes are closed, no data is being uploaded. You always know her privacy status at a single glance.

Proactive Privacy

Pophie can proactively turn her back or close her eyes during private moments.

Text-Based Memory

She transcribes conversations into text and filters sensitive info like IDs or addresses.

Permission First

Privacy-related features only work after you explicitly enable them in the app. Proactive photo capture, for example, will never happen without your prior consent.

Total User Control

Photos or videos captured by Pophie can be viewed, saved, or deleted instantly via the app.

After your free 1-year Pro subscription ends, Pophie will automatically return to the Free plan.

Free still keeps Pophie alive in daily use. You can upgrade to Standard or Pro anytime in the Pophie app for longer conversations, memory, and more advanced AI features.

Shipping Fee Clarification for Australian Backers 

• We would like to clarify a shipping fee setting issue for our Australian backers. The correct shipping fee for Australia should be US$25 per Pophie unit. 
• However, due to a setup error, the shipping fee for several reward tiers was mistakenly set to US$40. For any Australian backers who were overcharged for shipping, we will review the affected pledges one by one after the campaign ends and issue a refund for the shipping fee difference.
