At ENILINX, we build the things we want to use ourselves. TICKEY started with a simple frustration. We wanted a small color e-paper badge that felt considered rather than disposable: slim enough to carry, distinctive enough to feel personal, and quiet enough to live with every day.
It had to keep an image visible without a backlight or constant power. It also had to feel like a well-made object, not another glowing screen asking for attention.
We looked for one and could not find it. So we made it.
TICKEY brings digital content into everyday life on something you can carry and change whenever you want. It pairs capable hardware with careful craftsmanship and a calm, paper-like display. For us, that balance is the point: useful technology that stays in the background until you need it.

TICKEY’s interchangeable faceplate lets you change its style without replacing the device. Choose a faceplate that suits your bag, desk, or mood, then swap it whenever you want a different look.
The faceplate designs and shell colors shown are concepts. After launch, backers can vote on ENILINX options or submit an original faceplate design. The top eligible designs will be produced as reward options, and each selected designer will receive an extra TICKEY. Full rules will be published on the voting site.

Open firmware and the ESP32 ecosystem make TICKEY easy to customize, integrate, and build on.
The display driver is developed by the Modos, which focuses on building open source Eink devices and solutions. As part of the collaboration, we are offering a special Developer Edition: It shares the same base hardware as the normal version, but adds an additional 128MB of on-device storage (compared to the 8MB on the standard version), to allow even more applications to be developed for it. The Developer Edition also features a special color and front plate. If you are a developer planning to do more with the device, or you are a user thinking about installing potential third-party firmware on to your device, you may want to consider choosing the Developer Edition. Normal firmware still runs on this edition as well.

What we’ve built before
Before TICKEY, we brought Flexbar from crowdfunding to delivery. The campaign was backed by 2,009 people, and more than 2,400 units have since reached backers. Flexbar still receives software updates today. We also collaborated with Modos on Modos Flow. The paper-like e-paper monitor has raised more than $710,000 on Crowd Supply. That work expanded our experience with e-paper display systems and open hardware.
We are bringing that production and software experience to TICKEY.
