We’ve all been through the cycle of replacing magnetic wallets — whether due to surface wear, stitching issues, or evolving tech. The result? A ton of unnecessary waste, while the core component (the magnets) remains perfectly functional.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. These frustrations became all too familiar in our daily lives. We didn’t want to contribute to the problem, so we asked ourselves : “What if we could replace only the worn parts instead of discarding the entire wallet?”
That was our “aha!” moment — and MagBase™ was born.

Achieving Sustainability Through Rational Design
At Hyodo, we believe true sustainability starts with smart design. Most products are discarded not because they stop working entirely, but because a single part wears out. Instead of replacing everything, why not just swap what’s necessary?
With MagBase™, we created a modular system where you swap only what’s necessary, extending the product’s life while reducing unnecessary waste.
01 – MagBase™
[ The Core of It All ]
At the heart of our design is the MagBase™ — precision-crafted from a single solid block of aluminum. Engineered with powerful magnets for a seamless and secure edge-to-edge connection and an intuitive eject system, it remains incredibly slim, lightweight, and sleek — forming the ultimate magnetic foundation.
02 – Plates
[ Swap for What You Need ]
Your wallet, your way. Plates let you customize MagBase™ for different functions — switch between a classic leather look, a built-in phone stand, or double it as a card sleeve. Adapt to your day effortlessly while minimizing unnecessary waste.
📌 Each Plate features a metal back designed to attach to MagBase™, ensuring a secure, effortless connection. All Plates don’t contain any magnets.
03 – Ejector
[ Secure Hold, Effortless Swap ]
To ensure MagBase™ Wallet stays firmly attached for maximum security, we’ve designed a seamless, edge-to-edge connection between the MagBase™ and its Plates. This guarantees the strongest hold during use while still allowing for easy swapping when needed.
That’s where the Ejector comes in. Precision-crafted from a single block of Stainless Steel and polished to perfection, this tool is designed specifically to eject the Plate from MagBase™ effortlessly. Simply insert the Ejector into the designated slot at the bottom of MagBase™, press gently, and the Plate will lift at an angle — ready to be swapped.
Just like the SIM ejector tool included with every iPhone, every MagBase™ comes with an Ejector in the box.
Install Plate
Align the Plate to the bottom/side edge of MagBase™ (front side). Once positioned, gently release the Plate and let it naturally snap into place.
* To ensure a perfect fit, lightly slide the Plate left and right to check for secure alignment.
Remove Plate – [ with Ejector ]
Hold MagBase™ upside down and insert the Ejector into the designated slot. Press down on the Ejector, and the Plate will pop out naturally.
Remove Plate – [ with Card ]
If the Ejector isn’t available, you can use any standard credit card as an alternative. Simply insert its corner into the ejector slot and apply gentle pressure to pop the Plate out. This requires a two-handed operation, providing a quick solution for emergency swaps or adjustments.
Double Plate
MagBase™ isn’t just a front-facing wallet — it can also transform into a dual-sided card sleeve by attaching a second Plate to the back.
How To Install
Unlike the front installation, the back does not have a dedicated edge design. To attach a second Plate, align it from the side and let the powerful magnets secure it in place. Then, manually adjust the Plate for a precise fit.
How To Remove
To detach the back Plate, apply gentle pressure from the side with the “Designed by Hyodo” logo and slide it out.
Secure & Functional
While the back doesn’t feature the edge-to-edge design like the front, it still offers a firm magnetic hold — giving you the flexibility to confidently use a double-sided Plate setup.
MagSafe technology is built into every iPhone 12 ( 2020 ) and above, so you don’t need anything other than your phone to enjoy MagBase™.
If you have an earlier iPhone, an Android phone, or a case that isn’t MagSafe-compatible — no worries, Hyodo’s got you covered.
We include a Metal Adapter Ring that makes MagBase™ compatible with any device, including older iPhones and Android phones!
Plus, MagBase™ isn’t just for phones — it works on its own as a standalone wallet, giving you the flexibility to carry it however you like.
MagBase™ + Flexi Plate
The Flexi Plate is designed for versatility and comes as the default Plate with MagBase™. It features Dual-pocket design : The main pocket securely holds 1 – 4 standard credit cards, ensuring even a single card stays in place. Front pocket: Ideal for cash, coins, SD Card, an AirTag, or other small essentials.
