What’s the “Zen-Core” Ear Tips?

Silicone ear tips offer greater comfort but slightly less noise reduction, while foam tips provide better reduction at the cost of comfort. Saccater Focus Max “Zen-Core” ear tips combine the best of both worlds — enhancing noise reduction without sacrificing comfort.

10 Pairs Ear Tips, 3 Tip Types – Perfect Fit for Every Ear

Focus Max comes with 10 pairs of ear tips in 3 different types, designed to adapt to diverse needs and scenarios. Everyone perceives sound differently, for example, people with misophonia may be more sensitive to everyday noise. So we wanted to create options that support personalized noise reduction. At the same time, providing more ear tips not only ensures the best fit across various situations but also extends the overall lifespan of the product.

Ⅱ. Up to SNR 30dB Noise Reduction

Focus Max offers industry-leading passive noise reduction. The regular ear tips offer a noise reduction of SNR 23dB, while the double-tip ear tips increase it to approximately 28dB. The Zen-Core silicone-foam ear tips deliver up to 30dB of superior noise reduction. (Please note: The actual performance of noise-reducing earplugs is highly dependent on the way they are worn. All lab tests were conducted with trained and experienced users, so real-world results may vary significantly.)

Note: This chart is a simplified illustration of a 1 kHz tone modeled with an exponential decay envelope. The X-axis represents loudness, the Y-axis shows the amplitude (sound pressure), and the Z-axis indicates the elapsed time. The decay constant (τ) increases with initial sound pressure, meaning louder sounds take longer to fade. For example: at 120 dB (28.28 Pa), τ ≈ 800 ms; at 80 dB (0.283 Pa), τ ≈ 400 ms; and at 40 dB (0.00283 Pa), τ ≈ 200 ms. This demonstrates how loudness, sound pressure, and time interact, and why reducing sound intensity is essential for hearing protection.

Ⅲ. Research and Development: From Prototype to Product

Zen-Core is an advanced memory foam ear tip with a soft silicone core, offering a more secure fit and significantly less pressure inside the ear canal compared to conventional designs. To retain the superior noise-reducing ability of foam while improving comfort, the Saccater team explored a wide range of material combinations and fine-tuned the silicone–foam hybrid structure through multiple design and mold iterations.

The result: Focus Max comes with 3 distinct types of ear tips — Zen-Core silicone-foam, double-tip, and standard silicone. It’s the world’s first noise-reducing earplugs to include all three in one set, dramatically expanding its versatility and adapting to diverse personal needs. An all-in-one solution that redefines the standard for passive noise isolation.

* Saccater Focus earplugs come in three versions. The base version is equipped with regular ear tips and has been independently tested and certified by PZT Lab, meeting both European EN352-2 and U.S. ANSI S3.19 standards. Focus Plus is an upgraded version that includes double-tip ear tips, achieving an SNR 28dB rating based on internal testing by the Saccater Lab. 
The version offered in this campaign builds upon the Focus Plus by adding our custom-developed Zen-Core ear tips, designed to further enhance noise reduction and broaden usage scenarios. According to internal tests by Saccater Lab, the Focus earplugs equipped with Zen-Core tips can achieve up to SNR 30dB. 
This product remains part of the Saccater Focus model line and shares the same testing and certification data as the original Focus version.

* Under normal use and proper storage, the primary material—silicone—is engineered to last up to five years. However, actual lifespan may vary depending on environmental conditions, usage habits, and accidental damage.

2. Easy to Clean, Built to Last

Focus Max earplugs are made from medical-grade silicone with a smooth surface finish, making them easy to rinse and reuse. Both the earplug stems and all ear tip types — including the Zen-Core tips — can be washed with clean, room-temperature water. After rinsing, simply wipe dry or leave them to air-dry in a shaded area.

❗ Do not use hot water, detergents, or alcohol-based cleaners, as these may damage the materials.
❗ Avoid storing the earplugs in high-temperature environments, such as inside a car under direct sunlight.

With proper care, your Focus Max earplugs will stay clean, hygienic, and ready for long-term use.
