HERMNANT is a women’s bag brand from Kyoto, Japan, designed by Ayana Sanemitsu.

The name comes from the phrase “HER REMNANT — what she left behind.”

It captures the lingering scent, the quiet beauty, and the gentle grace that remain after a woman leaves a place — the kind of beauty that radiates from within, revealed through natural gestures and presence.

The word remnant also means “something left behind through time.”

This reflects the brand’s wish to connect enduring traditions with the present.

Beauty, for HERMNANT, lies not in decoration, but in gesture.

Every HERMNANT bag is designed to enhance the grace of everyday movements —
from the way you open it, to how it rests by your side.

This is the Japanese aesthetic of Yoin (余韻) — the quiet afterglow, the feeling that lingers after the moment has passed.

From textile development to final assembly, everything is crafted in Japan.

We collaborate closely with artisans who preserve rare and traditional Japanese techniques — especially those at risk of disappearing with time.

Our signature textile is created using the Hikibaku 引箔 technique from Kyoto’s Nishijin-ori weaving.

Foil is applied to washi paper, cut into thin strips, and woven into the material.

This process gives the textile its distinctive depth and texture.

The collection theme is “沈んだ煌めき — Sunken Radiance.”

The Black textile reflects a quiet glow beneath the surface, created by the depth and texture of the Hikibaku technique.

The Sen Shoulder Bag is inspired by the side profile of a kimono.

In traditional Japanese clothing, the obi—a wide sash wrapped around the waist—creates a distinct horizontal line on the body.

This line is considered one of the most elegant points in the kimono silhouette, balancing posture and enhancing the wearer’s presence.

This is designed to align naturally with that same position.

When worn, the bag rests along the body at the height of the obi, creating a calm, composed outline.

Its clean form allows the depth and texture of the Hikibaku textile to stand out, revealing a quiet beauty in everyday gesture.

The name “Tunari” carries the nuance of connecting or joining, reflecting the gentle, continuous lines that form the bag’s silhouette.

The Tunari 2way Bag transitions naturally between a hand-held style and a shoulder style.

Its shape changes subtly depending on how it is carried, allowing the wearer to move comfortably across different moments and settings.

It is available in two sizes — Large and Small.

Each size offers a slightly different presence:
the Large creates a calm, flowing silhouette, while the Small provides a compact, refined look that sits lightly against the body.

Each HERMNANT bag — both Sen and Tunari — comes with a ring tag.

Instead of a standard product tag, this simple ring is attached to the bag as its identifying mark.

The ring is linked to the brand name, “HER REMNANT — what she left behind.”

It quietly suggests the idea of a ring she may have left behind, a small object that remains after a moment has passed.

Nothing more is added to it. Just a single ring, used as the tag — a minimal form that aligns with the brand’s concept and sense of restraint.

Wrapping shown in the images is for reference only.

A HERMNANT bag does not aim to decorate or transform someone.

Instead, it is designed to bring out the beauty she already carries within — the calm presence, the softness in her gestures, the quiet strength that appears in everyday moments.

As a gift, it becomes a way to acknowledge those qualities. Not by adding something new, but by gently highlighting what is already there.

A HERMNANT bag stays with her in her natural state, letting her movements and presence shine in their own quiet way. In that sense, it becomes something that remains, a small companion that reflects who she is.
