Once Easy Ride has been installed, all it takes is a quick pedal backwards to engage the clutch and ratchet mechanisms built into the crank. This works whether the bike is stationary or moving. When you backpeddle at a range of 45°-90°, the system is designed to shift sequentially from 1st to 2nd gear or 2nd to 1st gear.
Thanks to this mechanism, no separate gear shift device is needed on the handles, and you can shift gears even while your bike is not in motion.
Recommended: Keep your bike in 2nd gear when stopping or storing.

For Backers in the United States
Shipping to the United States is free. However, due to recent changes to U.S. import policy, many U.S. shipping carriers now require tariffs to be prepaid by the sender. This ensures smoother customs clearance and prevents recipients from being asked to pay additional fees upon delivery. As such tariff costs will be collected after the campaign ends via a separate shipping survey.
In other words, while tariffs are technically the responsibility of the recipient, we will prepay them on your behalf to ensure a smooth delivery process. We will then collect the amount paid through the post-campaign shipping survey.
There will be no additional customs charges upon delivery.
For Backers Outside the United States
For backers in countries other than the United States, please note that the shipping costs shown above cover shipping only. Tariffs and other such charges are not included in the shipping cost.
Due to international customs regulations, VAT, customs duties, and import taxes are generally charged to the importer (the recipient), and these charges vary by country. Please note that your local customs office may request additional payment upon arrival. These charges are the responsibility of the backer, not Kickstarter or Contavelo.
