THOLL was designed to change how we think about shaving:

with 5 blades and pivoting head
Combining sustainability with a plastic-free design and the smooth comfort of a five-blade shave. The world’s first magnetic attachment system lets you replace blades safely and easily. A flexible pivoting head ensures a perfect follow to your skin for an exceptionally close shave.

② The ultra-slim, lightweight design of the replacement blade makes it effortlessly portable and easy to store.
THOLL replacement blade is just 1.7 mm thin and weigh only 1.0 g—perfect for carrying on the go or saving space at home.
Designed with a deliberately simpler blade structure than conventional five-blade cartridges, this razor is intended to achieve lower production costs while maintaining high performance.
③ High-quality Japanese blades – comfortable and close shave
・Blade alignment
We designed the razor so that its five blades progressively get closer to the skin. This allows hair to be cut gradually with minimal tugging, delivering a smooth, comfortable, and exceptionally close shave.
・Blade tip
Leveraging KAI’s precision blade technology, these blades deliver exceptional sharpness and durability. The blade tip is precisely controlled to under 1 μm—smaller than a bacterium. Even compared to surgical scalpels made by KAI, the blade tip is extremely sharp, which contributes to an incredibly smooth shave.
2. Our Legacy of Craftsmanship
KAI’s story began in 1908 in Seki City, Gifu, one of the world’s three great cutlery capitals. This region has been home to centuries of swordsmithing tradition, and it is here that KAI was founded with a passion for blades.
1908 – Began producing pocket knives in Seki City, carrying forward the heritage of Japanese swordsmiths.
1932 – Became the first Japanese company to manufacture replacement safety razors, introducing safer and more accessible shaving tools to the market.
KAI expanded into a wide range of products including nail clippers, kitchen knives, scissors, and industrial blades, all crafted with precision and reliability. In recent decades, our expertise has also extended to medical scalpels and specialized industrial tools, proving that the same dedication to sharpness can improve daily life and even save lives.
Today, KAI offers a portfolio of more than 10,000 items—from everyday grooming essentials to professional kitchen tools and surgical instruments.
