CHA – The Smart Bicycle Lube

Written by

Portable, neat, and satisfyingly ergonomic, Cha is what you’ve always wanted from a bike chain lubricator.

CHA’s unique solid graphite formula means clean, residue-free lubrication that keeps your bike performing at its best—and your floors, hands, and clothes spotless.

  • Revolutionary patented design (WO 2026/057906 A1) and unique formula.
  • Low coefficient of friction.
  • Chemically stable in harsh environments.
  • Dust-repellant and anti-corrosive.
  • Unmatched natural lubricant.

Anytime, anywhere! Simply place CHA on the bottom section of the chain, backpedal, and let the chain glide through the graphite bar.

Aerospace-grade lubrication. CHA optimizes the application of graphite—an unparalleled aerospace and industrial lubricant—for bike chains.

Long-lasting protection. CHA minimizes wear and tear on your bike’s drivetrain while keeping everything moving swiftly.

Made with cutting-edge 3D printing technology (Formlabs® SLS), it combines the material’s swiftnessflexibility and endurance, while providing the CHA with unique texture and ergonomics.

Each graphite capsule is also highly durable, but it can be easily replaced once it’s used up; naturally, and according to our values as a brand.

Simply insert a key, screwdriver, even an ice cream stick… and push in the new refill until it clicks.

Traditional bike chain lubricators are messy, rely on specific weather conditions, and are prone to retain dust and dirtparticles that can damage your bike. Not to mention they’re expensive and have a severe environmental impact.

They attract dirt and dust primarily due to the sticky nature of oil-based lubes.

  • Increased Wear and Tear:
Dirt particles act like abrasive sandpaper on your chain.
  • Reduced Efficiency:
The friction caused by a dirty, gritty chain significantly reduces cycling efficiency.
  • Frequent Maintenance:
Continuous accumulation of dirt necessitates frequent cleaning and reapplication.
  • Premature Component Replacement:
Chains have shorter lifespans, leading to higher long-term replacement costs.
  • It’s just a mess:
Even if you apply clean oil, old grease will keep staining your hands, clothes, home… you name it.
  • Complex Application Process:
Complete cleaning of the drivetrain (even removal of factory grease), which is time-consuming and requires specific equipment.
  • Rigid and Flaky Residue:
As wax dries, it can become brittle, causing flakes to shed off the chain, creating mess and occasionally buildup around the drivetrain.
  • Inconsistent Penetration:
Wax-based lubricants may not fully penetrate chain internals (rollers and pins), resulting in uneven lubrication unless applied meticulously or through professional immersion.
  • Reduced Convenience:
Traditional drip-on wax lubes still require drying time (often several hours) before riding.

Graphite in powdered form behaves very differently from what most people picture when they think of a solid. The individual particles are microscopically fine, small enough to migrate into the gaps between chain plates, rollers, and pins through normal mechanical movement. Once inside, graphite’s layered molecular structure causes the particles to adhere to metal surfaces and form a coherent film within the contact zones — not on top of them.

This is dry lubrication in its truest sense: it doesn’t flow or drip, it bonds. The principle is far from new — railway systems, aerospace, and heavy industry have relied on graphite-based compounds for over a century, applying it wherever liquid lubricants would fail, freeze, or contaminate.

With numerous industrial applications, from railway to aerospacegraphite is one of the best lubricating agents available today: a low coefficient of friction and chemical stability in harsh environments, paired with its dust-repellant and anti corrosive properties, make graphite a simply unmatched natural lubricant

Thanks to a thorough research and thousands of KMs in testing, we’ve not only found the best composition for its use in bicycle chains, but we’ve also overcome the difficulty in its application through a unique patented design.

With CHA, we’ve created a state-of-the-art object that can optimise the application of graphite on bike chains and make it easily available for anyone.

We’re a team of creatives with experience ranging from product design and engineering to expertise in 3D printing technology, all with a common ethos at core: We believe our work has to be rooted in the community it provides for and is nourished by.

Designed in Barcelona, CHA is inspired by the city’s free-flowing spirit, its renowned cycling routes, as well as its collective consciousness with the environment. CHA is a praise of the essence.

As a brand, we stand for a Mediterranean way of life that respects our heritage, both cultural and natural, while bringing joy to each little thing of our day to day. Because it’s just a bit harder for us, but it makes things much easier for you.

We’ve invested months in finding the right production partner to ensure CHA is made with the highest quality and reliability. That’s why we’re working the certified Formlabs® partner in Barcelona, who specializes in precision 3D printing and zero-waste manufacturing. Their experience allows us to combine cutting-edge technology with an eco-conscious mindset.

Building a new product from scratch is never simple, but we chose to work hands-on with every step instead of relying on intermediaries. This direct collaboration not only gives us complete control over quality, but also ensures CHA stays true to its roots: locally designed, locally made, and produced with minimal environmental impact.

Hand-in-hand with our product development, we’ve progressed with an environmental impact assessment. We’ve eloquently called it the ‘Green Plan’.

Traditional bike chain lubricators, even those called ‘biodegradable’, ‘eco-lube’, ‘bio-lube’, and so forth, have been found to contain PFAS, also known as forever chemicals. You can find out all about it on this study by the Danish Consumer Council, but the bottom line is it implies spreading chemicals that accumulate on the environment and our body (in the case of sprays) over many years.

Graphite, however, is a chemically inert and nontoxic substance

We’ve also taken great care throughout our prototyping process leading to our final product. The most refined designs prior to production, as well as the final product, have been produced through the cutting-edge Formlabs ‘Zero Waste Printing’ method, which allows for a production line with virtually no waste of material.

Most importantly, we’ve contacted local and official Formlabs® distributors for a full control of the production process, ensuring minimal transport emissions as well as a swift transition to shipping.

CHA is functionality and design, with ethos at its core.

The memory of my early racing days is tied closely to CHA. As a teenager competing on the bike, I never questioned the mess — the black bike chain “tattoos” stamped on my legs and socks, the grease on my hands, the scrubbing that always followed a ride. It was simply part of cycling. Years later, my cousin and racing mate reminded me of those moments, and I realized how universal that frustration is for riders. That memory became the spark: why should something as essential as chain care still be messy, wasteful, and polluting? With CHA, we’ve reimagined that ritual. What used to be dirt and hassle is now clean, simple, and sustainable — a way to enjoy the ride without compromise.’
